Co-authored by medical students who recently took the boards, it provides a complete framework to help you prepare for the most stressful exam of your career. Here's why this is the ultimate USMLE Step 1 review: • All subject areas revised based on feedback from thousands of students • Reviewed by nationally known USMLE instructor to ensure accuracy and relevance • Hundreds of full-color illustrations clarify essential concepts and improve retention • Valuable rapid-review section for last-minute cramming • Detailed test-taking strategies to maximize your study time • Expanded guide to high-yield USMLE Step 1 review resources, including mobile apps • Real-time updates at www.firstaidteam.com Review: Essential “Dedicated” Step 1 source - First Aid is known as “the bible” of Step 1 for good reason. This is the base reference for the dedicated study period, i.e. your veritable encyclopedia, and really where your brain lives leading up to the test. It contains the largest majority of the information tested in any one place, and many use it for 2CK prep too. It is two letters of the essential “UFAP” study materials/plan (along with U-world and Pathoma). Within its margins, write any high-yield test information gathered from other sources, e.g. Pathoma, Goljan, B&B, any q-banks. Buy the most updated version for your test year, make sure you see most if not all of it as you go through U-world. Don’t skip the high yield rapid review tables in back. I still open it up from every now and then when trying to recall some basic science obscure medical fact or phys concept. Review: Step 1 bible - The absolute must have book for usmle step 1. This is an amazing resource, and covers almost all the high yield information that you need to know for step 1. Obviously you can refer to other resources if you need further explanations, but this book is GOLD. And this version in my opinion is way better than the 2016 version because it's way more organized, especially neuro, and has improved diagrams and pictures and it also has some extra high yield info that i noticed was missing in the previous version. I found a few mistakes (2-3) in renal so far, but that's something you find in every first aid and you can just check the errata online. Definitely 5 stars, and definitely worth the switch from previous versions. Would also like to add that I'm so pleased by desertcart's delivery service, since I ordered this all the way from Romania and it arrived pretty quickly.

LOVE LOVE LOVE.... NP STUDENT
Wow wow wow!! I am an NP student trying to learn, do rotations, and study for boards. This book is soooo awesome for learning and RETAINING the material you'll need for testing and for medicine rotations!! I can't believe how much this book has helped me so far! Good for MD, DO, PA, and NP! A MUST have for your studying. What I like about this book is that it breaks complicated pathophysiology and physiology down into easy understandable steps and has lots of mnemonics to remember very specific disease processes. It has everything from biochemistry to every body system with great patho break down in each..

Complimentary depression
Despite the complimentary depression that came along with the book, this is the highest of HY, so I give it 5 stars. Also, there's enough added / updated material in comparison w/ the 2016 version. Differences I've noticed after looking at Endo are 2 figures were updated (one adding where drugs work, the other making it easier to read), and there was more info added about drugs in the Endo pharm section. The GI section has similar updates to diagrams (blood supply to GI structures easier to read, picture added for Hirschsprung disease, different images used for path of disease ect.). The FA diagrams are one of the most helpful things in the book for me, so I was happy to see that many of them were updated / made better. Opinion: It's worth buying even if you have the 2016 version

Before this book I was just a medical student. Now that I have this book I can hang out with all the cool kids, I can leave it on my coffee table as a conversation starter, I can carry it around with me and feel guilty for not studying, and so much more. Works wonderfully as a coaster for warm beverages, a riser to get your plate closer to your mouth so your food doesn't have to travel as far to your mouth, and a booster for the kid you started babysitting because you're so broke and you can't donate plasma until next week.

Good review book with some or few improvements in its ...
The best review book for the basic sciences with some or few improvements in its contents but same information year by year. I have some previous editions and it is not necessary buy a new edition the next year because is a little new content. Maybe every 3 years you can buy a new edition.

I think I may actually love this book...
I think I may actually love this book. The format is non-cluttered, easy to read, and easy to find what you're looking for. Whenever possible, they include mnemonics or other memory techniques, which is great (and often funny; their mnemonics are often a hoot!) I always find myself thinking "Why didn't I buy this sooner!". So learn from me, get it sooner rather than later. My advising dean recommended that I get this book to study along with my first year med school courses, so that I would get an early start at familiarizing myself with "high yield" step 1 info and also the books themselves. Seems like good advice to me!

Kindle Version is UPDATED AND FORMATTED NOW! (as of 9-Jan-2017)
Update 9-Jan-2017! Thank you to the FA 2017 Team and Amazon for rapidly fixing the issue!!!!! The FA 2017 is now formatted appropriately in Kindle! Cheers ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have the FA 2016 Version on Kindle and it was formatted exactly as the hard copy book and you could even search for words within diagrams. The Kindle version for FA 2017 is a complete mess as of 6-Jan-2017. Diagrams are blurry and words within diagrams can't be searched for (unlike the 2016 Kindle version). Attached is a screenshot of the Kindle Version of FA 2017; you can see how some parts are formatted like in the book (as images, however) while other parts are not formatted.

The best summative textbook (Basically a book of the notes you should have made during lecture!) - UK 1st Year Medical Student
I bought this book to help me decide if I wanted to take the USMLEs. I wish I had bought this book a lot earlier before I bought other textbooks. This book gives an amazing overview of the major systems taught in preclinical medicine. With the book divided into the major organ systems and each system then being divided into: Anatomy, physiology, pathology and pharmacology. This book is very good if you have already been taught the content but I would not recommend it to learn the content initially as there is much abbreviated language and acronyms. However this book has amazing diagrams and simple concise notes and methods of remembering facts. I would absolutely recommend this textbook to anyone.
