Edit:I stopped using the device shortly after posting the original review. Since then, I've pulled it out several times to transfer files, etc... and it's been increasingly unreliable to the point that I just tossed it in the garbage. The last time I used it, the hub got so hot that it felt like it was going to catch fire or melt the plastic. Yikes. Avoid.Original review:This hub is terrific, seems of decent quality, looks good and I like how the ports are arranged.Minor complaints:• It gets hot. This is probably to be expected. I have two WD USB 2TB drives, a micro SD card and sometimes my phone plugged into the hub.• My Dodocool hub does not allow enough power to pass through from the computer to power even a single USB drive when a power supply is not attached. What I mean is that with my other USB-C to USB adapter, my MacBook Pro battery will power up the drives and they'll be functional without a plugged-in power supply. The Dodocool hub will not allow me to do that. It needs to be plugged in. This makes it a small pain to move around with my laptop and peripherals — the moment I remove the power supply, I get the error message that the drives were disconnected. So I have to eject all drives before moving to a different work area.

It worked great at first, after a month or so, the power pass through works intermittently, the card reader stopped working at all. The HDMI port works fine and that's the only reason I'm keeping it. I was using it with an HP Spectre x360 and was looking forward to the added connectivity options this would provide if it worked as advertised. It didn't, I should have spent more on something that works consistently.UPDATE: Tonight while using the HDMI out port, that stopped working too. Absolute piece of crap and I will not return it for another one.

This product had all the ports I needed, so I was very happy to receive it. Unfortunately, despite several months of light use and good care, the device has become quite unreliable. The USB 3.0 type A ports on it are hit-and-miss: sometimes they work fine, sometimes the computer thinks I'm rapidly plugging them in and then unplugging them, and sometimes they go completely unrecognized. The SD card reader has ceased to work; it now will make my computer say "There's something wrong with the device you plugged in" whenever I try to use it. On other computers with normal SD card slots, the card itself was fine. Finally, the HDMI output is OK if you connect it to certain outputs. However, whenever I try to connect it to my school's projectors, it has some truly awful screen tearing, rendering it unusable. I've tested all the ports on the adapter with other computers, but with the same results.It's entirely possible that these problems aren't normal, and I've just received a dud. I wish I knew that before the return window closed. Though this product is relatively inexpensive, the cost is unreliability.Update June 2018: dodocool has fulfilled the warranty by refunding me in full for the defective product. However, the warranty application process was far too tedious, taking over a month. The warranty office ignored my first attempt to request a replacement. After repeated emails, they replied saying that I had to remove this Amazon review before they would grant me a refund. I assured them I would amend my review if and only if they followed through with the warranty. Still, they insisted I remove this review. Finally, after many more emails back and forth, they finally granted the warranty refund. As promised, I am amending my review with this update to document my experience.TL;DR: Be warned of defective products, and be prepared for a long, tedious battle with the warranty services if you are unlucky enough to receive a faulty adapter.

I bought this for my Lenovo Yoga 720, which lacks many of the ports I need (it has no SD of HDMI slots, and it doesn't have enough USB slots - especially considering one of the two is occupied by my pen holder). This adapter has all of the ports I need, all in one, *and I bought it for less than half of the price of most of these types of adapters at the time. I have tried out the ports, and all of them work just fine and dandy. There didn't seem to be any delay through the HDMI adapter. As some other reviewers mentioned, it does get a little warm (it seemed to stay warm even when nothing was plugged into it), but that doesn't seem to be a problem. Especially when my computer has a good fan and my work area is cool. I'll revise my review if I discover it is a problem or if I have other trouble with this adapter, but I don't expect to.

Warning: This product takes about 3 weeks for delivery since it ships from Shenzen, China. If you do not mind waiting, this is a wonderful product at a great price. I used it with my MacBook Pro and the finish perfectly complements the notebook. The device converts you USB-C port to 3 USB-A 3.0, 1 HMDI, 1 TF Card Reader, 1 SD Car Reader, and 1 USB-C port. A previous reviewer commented about the USB-C pass-thru port. The port is a tight fit but it does fit. Personally, I would rather have a tight fit than a loose fit. I highly recommend this product. It works great.

I wanted to like this hub, but it isn't reliable. It DOES seem to work fine through the HDMI port (unless you also try to use a DisplayLink adapter through one of its USB ports,) but the USB connectivity seems flaky. After a few minutes of working properly, it seems to drop the USB connection with my mouse and keyboard. I've contacted the manufacturer, but no response.

This works well with my new iMac except that the cord is too short. The iMac ports are inconveniently located in the back of the monitor. I wanted the SD card reader and other ports where I could use them frequently. I just have to figure out where and how to mount this device. I am searching for a short extension cord. Other than the short cord, this device is great!
