Q: Can this be used for a child?

Hello. Since these ring adjusters can be cut to length to fit (see the instructional video to see what I mean), they can absolutely be used on a children's size ring.

i dont think so, it usually only helps with about a half size!

Q: How do you get it off?

If you're asking how do you get the adjuster off, it's soft, and just uncoils. If you mean how do you get the ring off, the adjuster is soft, and as you pull it over the finger joint, it will actually roll over the joint. These things are not "invisible", but neither do they catch on clothing or pinch your finger. My rings are all the right size for me, but once past the joint, heavy stones always want to roll to the side or upside down. I love these things. They keep a heavy stone facing up,

Hello. We've recently uploaded a video to this product listing that should help show how the item works to reduce the ring size. You can find the video at the end of the product photos. Since they're adjustable based on how many spirals/wraps you add to the ring, you can reduce the size of a ring pretty significantly.
