My first 5TB External Hardisk. Looking to purchase one more as I am a wildlife photographer and shoot in RAW. Highly recommended

Extremely Disappointing Hard Drive – Not Worth the Money
I had high expectations for this hard drive, but it turned out to be a major disappointment. While the exterior may be sturdy, the internal performance is severely lacking. Within just five months of use, I started experiencing I/O errors.Additionally, there’s a discrepancy in the warranty—Amazon shows coverage until 2027, but when registered on the manufacturer’s site, it only extends until 2026. This raises concerns about whether the product is preowned or old stock.Performance-wise, the read and write speeds are far below what should be expected from a USB-C 3.2 device. Overall, this purchase feels like a waste of money, and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Takes forever to mount. Read/Write speed is only 50MB/s for the 5TB Version
I have the M1 Macbook Pro and bought the 5TB version of this drive for archival purpose. The main selling point was the USB-C cable and the fast advertised speeds of around 140MB/s. But in reality this drive only gives me less around 50MB/s Read & Write speeds. Also the G-Drive takes forever to mount on my Mac. Sometimes it doesn't mount automatically and I have to open the Disk Utility to manually mount the drive. Very disappointed with the purchase. Just hope that it is as rugged as advertised and doesn't give me any troubles on the road.
