Gx Eagle Axs Upgrade Kit

This kit was super easy to install after watching the SRAM video and making sure the bike was ready. The hardest part was removing the cable and cable housing. The fine tuning was super simple and I was able to quickly and easily update the firmware before the first ride. I installed this on a Trek e-mountain bike for my wife and after a couple hundred miles, she loves it. It is really well designed and built. And yes, I really like sram stuff. The price however, is pretty steep but it’s designed well, was easy to install and it just works. And yes, the battery is a breeze to install and remove after each ride and I’ve only recharged it once and that’s because I wanted a fully charged battery before our long ride last weekend. Good stuff and highly recommended.

Very nice, I installed myself. Wireless is great, eliminated bike wires and can be micro adjusted electronically. Only improvement is to add a feature so each gear can have its own, different microadjustment. Now an adjustment applies to all the gears, but my high and low gears need slightly different adjustments, so I have to change them depending if I bike mountains or flats.

This SRAM Bluetooth shifter and derailleur is amazing. Total game changer in my opinion. I read a lot about what people had to say, there was a lot of people that didn’t seem to like it, which I found hard to believe. If you already have a compatible SRAM drive train, this was so easy to install, comes with everything I needed, including the chain gap tool. Watched a brief SRAM video and that was it. And imagine never needing cable adjustments again, no bike shop visits. Then on top of that, instantaneous shifting with a just a touch. Connects to your phone to give you the ability to make micro adjustments if needed, which I didn’t need to. I am Having my best mountain bike rides with this upgrade, and I have been riding a long time. So worth it! Buy an extra battery on Amazon for $15, to put in your pocket if you’re worried about the battery, but it lasts for 20 hours lol. Great upgrade and if you have SRAM already this is a way more cost effective way to go, versus the entire transmission. So glad I got this, it’s already having a positive impact on my riding.

I blew out my SX derailleur, and it was going to cost $400 or so to upgrade it to GX and upgrade the shifter, so I bit the bullet since this was only another $125 and my friends all rave about it. I wasn't sure it would make much of a difference, but I love how smoothly it shifts and how easy it is to maintain/adjust. My only fear is being stuck with a dead battery, but AFAICT so far the batteries seem to last many rides, and the crappy iOS app at least lets you monitor the state. One tip a friend gave me is to also carry a spare CR2032 battery for the shifter.

Bought this for 595, seen it has gone on sale in the past decided to just do it money is just a material thing. Anyway my old cable shifter was having issues and I initially ordered the parts to repair it but instead of having to struggle with that whole process I decided to just order the axs system. I have seen it when I first started getting into mtbs and man it really is just an “upgrade”. Shifting is seamless and the battery lasts for days rarely would ever need to charge. Only issue I have is it doesn’t come with the controller in the picture but you can find a better one from a third party seller or just keep the one included if you don’t mind. Setting it up is easy as well and if you need help there is a video on yt. TLDR: if you can afford it get it

Installation was quick as there are no wires to mess with. Everything works well with the Shimano XT chain, cassette and crankset. I'm one of those still using 2x cranks for increased range covering super steep climbs AND long approach rides on the road ... Even that works reasonably well. Definitely better than mechanical XTR derailleur

Bought this on sale figuring I couldn't pass up the $500 price for the full upgrade kit. The date on the box from SRAM was from 2020. So, it's old stock. I thought, "no big deal" as long as it works, but 4 years is a long time for a battery to sit... Threw the battery on the charger as I started the install and noticed the red light. Thought I would just leave it on the charger while I completed the install to see if it would work itself out of the error and start to charge. The battery would not charge and when I contacted the seller (in this case, Competitive Cyclist and shipped from Backcountry) I was told that they only issue refunds and not replacements. All I needed was a battery that worked - which would have been an easy fix from my point of view to just swap them and stand by the products that they sell. But they require that you return the entire unit. With the recent price increase I would have actually been out more money to return it and take the chance of ordering another one that could possibly have the same issues. So they have you over the barrel with this and it ends up being most reasonable to just purchase another battery. So, buyer be warned. If you happen to have other AXS units that you can swap a battery for, this can be a good deal. If not, then you are dead in the water without the battery. Once you factor in purchasing a new battery ($50 +), it doesn't end up being a super deal and you might as well spend the extra cash to get the newer unit with the upgraded shifter lever. As far as the actual product - this is the second AXS I have installed and it is one of my most favorite upgrades. Shifting is smooth and easy, not having to deal with the extra cable is nice, and the adjustments through the app are so much easier than cable adjustments. Plus, if you are a data nerd like me, you will love all of the shifting data, etc. you get from the AXS app. Great product, but if you want good customer service you might want to head to your LBS or buy from somewhere other than Competitive Cyclist/Backcountry.

Je l'utilise depuis presque un an tous les jour même l'hiver ds la neige et ou sous la pluie avec une batterie... La batterie dure entre 10 et 20h pour environ 1h30 de charge et la manette ce customize entièrement avec l'application sram mais prend un certain temps a sy abituer car c'est bc plus sensible que une manette a câble
