My New Friend
Pros: Love it. I am so pleased with this well thought out and appointed tool. It thinks of everything. I have used it on porcelain tile floors, area rugs and even berber wall-to-wall carpet (this is not endorsed by the Company) and appreciated the good job it did. Saves taking my area rugs outside to wash, and hand-washing my tile floors.Thoughtful features: swivel head maneuverability with extensive turn radius;Since it vacuums and mops at the same time, it saves an extra step in the processPush-button, self-cleaning brush roller, (performed right in its own little tray);Tangle-Free Brush Roll helps keep strands of hair out of it;Auto stop if too much debris is sensed; Two tank system so floor is never exposed to dirty water; Both tanks are designed to be easy to remove, fill or rinse and replace;Preferred a corded machine and this has an extra long cord for convenient uninterrupted cleaning;A hook to snap cord into at top of handle to keep it out of the way as you clean; (I’m always walking backward, away from the just-washed floor)Handy stand for level storage (and during self-cleaning operation);Convenient tank-cleaning brush and accessory drying rack plus special cleaning tool for those times when you need more than the self-cleaning functionErgonomically designed handle with all the buttons within easy reach for toggling between hard floors and rugs, spray trigger and self cleaning options.Customer service was immediate and helpful when I had a question about the spray function (you do need to hold spray trigger for 10 seconds before starting when you want to use the spray feature.I use filtered water from the tap, without the cleaning solution so far. Instead I spray my own cleaners onto the floors. The test: White socks remain white while walking about afterward.Cons: Sides of the machine can’t get close enough to the wall to clean that space. Somewhat better if you can face in straight from front, which In spite of the swivel head is awkward in a narrow hallway.A bit too big to fit under some upholstered furniture pieces.

Faulty design.
Excellent concept. It worked perfectly on my glossy flooring. Excellent construction. For the past two months, I've been pleased (approximately 15 hours of use in 60 days)A fatal mistake. The ball bearings on the impeller side of the motor are extremely vulnerable to moisture damage. Because these bearings are not accessible for service or replacement (a bad scenario for the environment), a practically intact $230 machine is taken to the scrap yard. Well, I could have returned it under warranty, but here's the catch. My profession is that of a certified repairman. The motor assembly is now scrap because it cannot be fixed by a professional (by design). The intricate and strong motor unit is built of a brittle plastic comparable to Bakelite. Bakelite is a thermosetting phenol-formaldehyde resin formed by the condensation of phenol and formaldehyde."Once again, this is not environmentally friendly."After learning the issue with the item, I swiftly retracted my compliments to my friends and family. There are numerous useless parts, but I'm not determined to repair this machine because humidity destroyed the first bearing in just 60 days. I wish the motor was better designed. It is well-made, and I believe it will last for many years. My advice is to avoid purchasing. I'd be amazed if the repair/return center wasn't packed with these machines in need of motors. Please contact me if the manufacturer is reading this. I won't buy another unless I hear of product changes that go to the heart of this machine, I'll continue to caution my friends about spending money on this product.

When reading the reviews for this item, be aware that many are reviewing a different product...
I reviewed this wer-dry vac a couple of months ago and am going to add my additional notes below the original:First, we have a large "drool-y" dog and my dark engineered wood floors have water spots and pawprints no matter how much I try to clean him off. This machine does a very decent job of cleaning these floors but here are some things to consider:VACUUM FIRST. Yes, this machine is called a vacuum but ALWAYS vacuum before using it. Otherwise debris and dirt will clog the filters and roller brush constantly.DAMPEN THE ROLLER BEFORE USING or you'll use a lot of solution to saturate it, and the roller doesn't clean very well at the beginning of the job when it's dry.TAKE YOUR TIME. A slow back-and-frth motion is best for cleaning.USE BOTH OPTION BUTTONS ON TOP OF THE HANDLE. The "hard floor" button dispenses a little water into the roller and then the vacuum sucks up the dirty water. The "area rug" button dispenses more solution and I find that I need to use this option in especially dirty areas (such as where our dog has dropped water after he has had a drink while I'm not home to wipe it up).WORKS BEST ON SMOOTH HARD SURFACES AND AREA RUGS. We have "hand scraped" floors and the brush doesn't hit the floor evenly, so it takes some extra time to clean these floors. The machine cleans smaller area rugs very well, too.ALWAYS USE THE SELF-CLEAN feature after you are done with the machine. It takes about 20 minutes to do it right, and the parts (such as the roller brush) take at least a day to air dry. And rinse the brush, too. After the dirt and debris dry in the machine, it will be difficult to clean out and keep the machine working effectively.Also-- dump the dirty water outside but not down your sink (especially if you have pets)I have posted a photo of the small tool caddy and tools that come with it, and what the tools and slots are used for.All in all, I like this machine very much. It does a good job of cleaning and doesn't put as much stress on my shoulders as using my previous sponge mop did. It is a little fussy, figuring out how to best use it and needing to clean it afterward, but the result is worth it.EDITED TO ADD:To be honest, the novelty has worn off a bit. Proper cleaning of this machine and its parts after using is a pain. Our "hand scraped" floors just don't clean evenly. And even though I use distilled water and the Eureka cleaner in it, I often have to go over areas again. But there's nothing else out there that is any better (I've looked for over a year) so I will just deal with it.
