C by GE A19 C-Life Smart LED Light Bulb by GE Lighting, 2-Pack, Works with Alexa

Good value for the money installation easy and used along with Google home app. Brightness good and easily dimmed

I have 19 of these specific GE smart bulbs in my home and love the versatility. You can turn lights on/off AND adjust the brightness level by either speaking to the Google Home speaker at home, or from anywhere outside of your home using the Google Home mobile app. Bonus: You can set a light(s) to turn on at a certain time like an alarm clock... or set routines. Got my first bulb 5-6 years ago, and have yet to have one go bad! Tried another brand once from BJ's that was supposed to work with Google but didn't and returned. The only downside to smart lighting is that if your WiFi goes down, you'll have to manually turn lights on via lightswitch. If you have 2+ speakers in different areas of your home, keep them all powered on, or your speaker might tell you the lights aren't available right now. A+ product. Recommend!

Ordered my bulbs to use with a Goggle Assistant Mini first generation and they work perfectly and integrated with other bulbs I have. I don't understand some of the negative comments as I had no problems. I'm not using the GE app but the Google Home app on my phone ... screwed the bulbs into two lights in different rooms opened the app on my phone and it recognized the bulbs instantly and followed setup procedure on the phone ... took less than 90 seconds total and can control with the app on the phone or speaking to my Goggle assistant ... how much easier could it be ???

Bought these because the C by GE series is recommended by Google for use with the Google assistant, but these bulbs (the C-Life series) are NOT compatible with smart assistants because they are Bluetooth ONLY.Can only be controlled by the GE app, which is useless. Takes years to launch on a phone, and years longer to recognize bulbs even after installed and added to the app. The app has some robust (sounding) features for adding multiple bulbs to the same room and creating "scenes" with user-defined brightness and (where applicable) colors, but since only half of the linked bulbs will respond when you give commands to a room it's a waste of your time to set this up. The app even claims you can link it to Google home, so you can use the clunky "hey google, ask GE to turn the lights on" commands, but unless you have a WiFi-connected bulb already connected to the GE app, the two accounts will fail to link entirely. But not too worry, the GE app WILL leave you on a loading screen PRETENDING that it's connecting to Google home for as long as you let it. I gave it >10 minutes on two occasions, the second after restarting everything, just to be sure.If you're looking for actually smart bulbs to connect to a home assistant, don't buy these. Spend twice as much money and buy the C-by GE wifi/direct-connect bulbs, and add them directly from your Google Home or Alexa app (conveniently, you can skip the GE app entirely with these) and then your lights will work at least 70% of the time!They did arrive in very cool packaging that was made of 100% recycled cardboard—no plastic, not even any glue—which made them very easy to pack up and return (with the hint of a little origami challenge) when I discovered what a waste of time the bulbs were. 10/10 would return these again!

These light bulbs work with Google home. It takes awhile to set it up.

I just bought my second set. I think the app works well and they're easy to use. Good way to make my home smarter without a lot of expense. It's so nice not having to get up to turn the lights off. You can ony control them from home (have to be in range of the bulbs) but you can set timers. That works well for me and I haven't had any difficulty connecting to the bulbs when I'm home. The "sleep" light bulbs have 3 different tones of light (for am, day, pm) and the "life" bulbs only have one. Both have dimmers.

I wanted a light that worked well with my google home setup. This light delivered. I was able to connect it to with just the Google Home app. The C by GE app and the C-Reach were NOT needed. I can now control by voice and by the Google Home app.I'm giving this 3 stars due to two things I wish were better.1. The price. I wish it was cheaper. Plain and simple.2. They don't tell you to just use the Google Home app. It suggest downloading their C by GE app which works, but stops it from working with Google Home. When I went to the app help screen, it says I needed to buy the C-Reach for Google Home to connect. This made the setup process take a while. Eventually I did a factory reset and used only the Google Home app to find the process very simple.

I am super disappointed. :0( I keep purchasing the "c by ge" smart bulbs, to TRY to set up rest of house with the same bulbs I started with... is frustrating and a waste of money. Doesn't sync, doesn't pair, doesn't factory reset...is just a very expensive light bulb. No help out there to make them work either. :0( Am done with "C by GE" till they can iron out all the wrinkles. Such a cool idea, and I have several that work, from long ago... super disappointing. :0(
