Great Start to Understanding Infectious Diseases
Hello, I am a final year pharmacy student. This book has been very good to me to find an interest in infectious diseases. It's very weird because I had NO interest in infectious diseases prior to starting rotations. In preparation for a topic discussion among students, I was able to STAND OUT because I read this book. I was even able to teach the leader of the topic discussion a few things or two. The feelings of excitement after sharing what knowledge I had in this book pushed me to learn more about what clinical pharmacy has to offer as a profession. Recently, I participated in the NJSHP College Bowl Competition and I can say that I was able to speak confidently to the questions asked because of what I learned from this book! I had no expectations whatsoever, but I want to SHARE that my team was able to win this competition. Overall, I have been able to cultivate my growing knowledge of clinical pharmacy through this book. I encourage others who have had a struggle with infectious diseases to look into this book. Who knows what you might get out of it?

Excellent reference for antimicrobials!
This book is very well written and organized. Excellent review of antimicrobials divided by categories and coverage. Great to read throughout or as a quick reference to review mechanism of actions, etc. This is a good book for healthcare professionals, students, residents and fellows going through ID rotations or studying for boards. The book is an overview of antimicrobials and as the title says simplified. This is not the book to lookup specific treatment or dosages for a case or disease, there are other books for that. Will recommend to everyone!

Very useful to learn about antibiotics
I'm a pharmaceutical writer and needed a crash course in antibiotics. This book was ideal. Not overly technical but very comprehensive, it gave me an excellent background into antibiotic classes and drugs, including where and when they should be used, their benefits and shortcomings, and what drugs they can be combined with. Great starting point for understanding antibiotics without getting too heavily into chemical formulations and other specifics you can get later.

Useful!
I just got this and have made it through the first part of the book. I can already tell I'll have to be careful with it so pages don't rip or come unbound. The information thus far seems useful but the book is a little larger/thicker than expected. I thought it'd be more pocket friendly. Regardless, I know it'll be useful in pharmacy school during the dreaded antibiotic sections

ABX Must Have
Great book which lives up to the title. This book makes learning antibiotics a easy. Antibiotics are some of the hardest drugs to learn. Easy to read and understand. It breaks the treatment down so that you can sort and organize them in your head. Overall, great read and I feel that this book is a must have for any MEDICAL STUDENT, NP, PA, RN, MD class that requires and in depth knowledge of antibiotics.

A pharmacist's best friend
I love this handy little book. I wish I had bought it during pharmacy school. As a PGY1 pharmacy practice resident in a hospital, I carry this thing with me everywhere. It's been a lifesaver studying for the NAPLEX, prepping for topic discussions and antimicrobial stewardship meetings. Worth every penny.

Great book for big picture understanding
I purchased this book prior to my antimicrobial stewardship pharmacy residency rotation and it was a great way to refresh ID. I would recommend this book to anyone going through ID in school or anyone who is in practice who would like a concise refresher.
