These are not durable enough to use on HOT cast iron pans. the heat comes right through and one set even started melting the other night when I was cooking. not safe , unfortunately I missed my return window by a couple of days. so I'm probably just throwing them out . I wouldn't recommend purchasing these for safetys sake .mad because i bought two sets, and now I wont use the other one either . note, this was not left on the stove in a neglectufl manner, I had it on the handle of the pan for a few miutes before I took it off the stove.

Read the warning when you get it. It goes into more detail, but basically you can’t expose the holder to heat from the outside, because it reflects it or something like that. The surface of the inside of the potholder (the part that touches the metal) is what gets hot and protects you from the hot metal, but if the exterior of the potholder (the part you hold) is too close to a flame or hot burner, or if it is in a hot oven, it will reflect heat off of the outside surface as well (if you pick it up or will be hot as SH$&@$??:&$)&!:!?&T and will burn the hell out of you). It says this plainly in the directions, but I did not remember reading that in the description on the product. In my opinion that means you have to keep taking it off any time it is on the stove to keep the outside from getting hot which is a hastle and can be kind of dangerous. That’s why I’m only giving it 3 stars.It works best when you just want to take a finished pan off the stove for good.It’s alright for taking a pan off the stove and to the counter or sink and back once or twice.It’s a hastle for any cooking involving a lot of on-and-off the stove and/or in-and-out of the oven, if that makes sense.

How in the heck did these get 5 stars from anyone?These got almost as hot as the cast iron handle. I burnt my hand trying to pour food out of my skillet.The main handle piece had to be cut just to squeeze it over my Le Creuset enamelled cast iron skillet handle, which is pretty standard in regards to handle size.I am going to try a cloth or fabric material next, I assume it will be better than this!

Have you ever been cooking and accidentally grabbed the handle of your hot cast-iron pan? Well, someone in our family has and it resulted in 2nd degree burns on the right palm -- not something we wished to repeat! So we ordered these silicon handle holders and they work great! They fit over most Lodge brand cast-iron pans, and while they get warm, they are still able to handle without discomfort. Note: place on before the pan is heated -- it's a lot easier! Not sure why I didn't order these a long time ago!

I'm the idiot that uses an oven mitt or towel to move the cast iron skillet on the stove, but then go and grab it bare handed 5 minutes later to serve what's in it. You would think I would learn the first time, but NOPE. These fit absolutely perfectly and don't take up a lot of room on the counter or in the drawer. Knowing I have them will make me feel a lot more comfortable when it's time to move the scorching pan of death.

when left on the cast iron pan, they are just as hot as if nothing was covering them. the only way to use them and be effective is to keep them off of the pan and only put them on when you are ready to move the pan. does not prevent burns. they also slip off extremely easy. have almost dropped my hot pan as i pick it up b/c the handle twists instead of staying put

Really glad I got these! I'm new to using a cast iron skillet and have to say I love it. It was always messy trying to use oven mitts when the handles got hot. They still get pretty warm if you're cooking for a long time, but I don't have to worry about burning myself. I also like that I can easily wash and dry these, verses the oven mitts I'd have to put in th laundry everytime I got food on them. Definitely a great value for the price. I really enjoyed the color options as well.

I purchased these silicone handles for my cast iron pan, as I forgot to order the pan as a set with handles.The silicon handles are durable and fit on regular-sized pans and skillets, but I have experienced that the silicone somehow doesn't insulate as well from the heat as I thought it should.I left the silicon covers attached to my pan for about 15 minutes on the oven and the silicone became to warm to handle without gloves.Lesson learned; I remove the silicon covers after a few minutes and never put them into the oven.

I am glad I got red because its easy to forget your skillet get super hot realy good addition to my kitchen 👍🏻

The silicone hot handle holder is useless. It heats up almost immediately when put onto the cast iron skillet handle. So much that you would need your oven mits to hold the silicone hot handle holder.

Pleased with these and will make and glad I have bought them for a safer grip on the pan handles.Especially, when lifting pan to the side.
