Great pocket retro machine, after tweaking
I’ve been looking for a dedicated nostalgia handheld for a while and had absolutely no idea how far handheld devices had come. The RG280M is my first pocket retro console and I’m pretty impressed. The stock OS is pretty poor (OpenDingux) but does the job and comes with a lot of games on the second SD card. Decent out of the box. For a better overall experience, look into Adam Image. The UI and performance is so much better than the stock OpenDingux version. Combined with Skraper for original box art, this little device is a really great purchase. With the smaller screen, some menu text doesn’t scale very well and it’s basically impossible to read. Shame there hasn’t been much software optimisation but this device is pretty old now.I do think £100 is a bit steep, but given the current market conditions and how hard these things are to find it’s hardly surprising that seller have pumped the price up. I’d say this specific version should be priced at no more than £70. There are newer versions out there for the same price but hard to find in stock, you’re literally just paying more because of limited supply.

Really nice so far, though box was unfortunately damaged. Handheld was fine though!
I've only played this for short bursts while initially testing it, so I can't comment on long term reliability just yet (I've seen some reports of consoles crashing midway through long playthroughs etc). The box was unfortunately damaged, hence only four stars, but the handheld itself is in perfect condition. The stock software is usable; though I would recommend the Adam image if you feel comfortable doing that. Do it on a new Micro SD card though, in case you need to return to the stock software for whatever reason. If you're looking for a screen protector, search for one for the Nikon D7100. That is a very similar size (I'll most likely add pictures of that once it arrives)Runs (the admittedly very few I've tried so far) GBA, GBC, GB, and PS1 games really well. I will also aim to update this review as I try more, though I'll probably forget 😇Don't be put off by the fact it's a year or two old like I initially was, it's a really great handheld so far. Would recommend. Especially for the nice price of £69.99, as of when I bought it

So easy to set up and the kids love it!
Pleasantly surprised with this piece of kit. Having checked the online installation guides and videos, I'd prepared myself for an evening of fiddling with stuff I didn't understand to get it all working, but actually, all I had to do was plug in the microsan disk that came included, and switch it off an on, and suddenly the emulator was working and equipped with 500 classic games from my youth.Handed it to my 5 year old for Christmas and he's been glued to it ever since!Build quality is amazing, looks awesome, and I expect it to last may, many years. Or until he accidentally drops it down the loo. Thanks guys

Great little retro hand-held.
This has been great!!! Its handy to have all your games on one device, everything up to the original PlayStation. It can be overwhelming having so many games on the device, but try and refrain from flicking from one to another and just play through a game as it was to have been done back in the day.As you can see from the photos, the Gameboy looks great, my original GB that I sprayed a couple of years ago along with a GB macro I made. It fits in nicely. It has a small screen but that's why I bought it.It doesn't have an HDMI out, I knew that before my purchase. It feels like a quality bit of kit the metal body feels solid and weighty, but not to much so.I love it!

Nope, not for me!
I thought this would be great, I did my homework and everything. It wasn't.The games didn't work at all and if I try to insert the included microSD it just restarts itself over and over and over....I spent hours googling how to fix it or reinstall/reset it... Nothing! (There is loads on what to do once it works) I Emailed them... Nothing.Oh, and not that I was able to use it for gaming but while it rebooted over and over again... The screen is unbelievably small!!! I'm not sure how you could actually play anything....Tldr: Nope

Hassle free, great retro experience
Worked straight out of the box with no setup required. Games all load fine, button mapping is great, and overall build quality is perfect for the price. Battery is great and the screen is crisp, albeit some people may be used to something bigger - but I'd say this is comparable to how retro handhelds used to be.Much better, more reasonably priced, alternative to some of these trendier retro devices that are hitting the market now.
