The hat arrived in a secure box , wrapped completely in tissue paper and placed securely on a hat mold. The hat band had a protective wrap around it. It's a GREAT feeling to see such attention put in the packing alone. Before it was even out of the box, I was already pleased with my purchase! It's GREAT to do business with a company that delivers on these details. It isn't seen often enough these days. Now to the actual product, the hat fit perfectly, even with my thick hair, but does have adjustable strings to tighten, if necessary, and also included were two padded/adhesive strips. Other adults in my household tried on the hat too, and it needed no adjustments, it fit us all great. It does have a nice high dimpled crown and narrow brim. It's a handsome, comfortable hat. The material looks GREAT, I ordered black, and the color is rich looking. I thought the price was very good for a hat that looks this exceptionally well made. I could not find one defect, again, this doesn't happen often these days. I am very satisfied with the care in packing and COMPLETELY satisfied with the great quality of the "Simplicity" Fedora hat. Review: In memoriam of my old TOTES hat - Circa 1987, I walked into a TOTES outlet store in Pennsylvania Dutch country and bought a collapsible "rain hat" for a mere ten bucks. I then wore that hat relentless for decades, seldom without it and never traveling without it. The hat was central to some of my most treasured adventures. For example, while hiking the northern extremes of Scotland with my wife, a gust of wind tore the hat from my head and hurled it into a flock of sheep. I shoved sheep ashide feverishly, until I finally saw the hat. Just then, another gust of wind took the hat airborne and propelled it toward a cliff over hanging the North Sea. I leapt and tackled my cherished rain hat, just yards from a precipitous doom. Over time, my head conformed to the shape of the hat, such that no other hat felt right. But I didn't care, because I had no desire for other hats. And I didn't care what people thought, when atop my gob I sported the old, stained, and threadbare remains of my dearest companion. All too soon, my beloved rain hat would no longer spring back after being crushed in a suitcase. Then the lining turned to dust and fell out, followed by the headband. Only then did I come out of denial and admit that I must find a new hat. After a suitable period of mourning, I embarked on my new quest. I squandered much time and money amassing a great collection of impressive hats, most made from the finest felts, in the latest styles. In an effort to alleviate my pain, friends and family bought me hat after hat. But no hat could fill the hole left in my life by the demise of my dear rain hat. Until now... The Simplicity Unisex Timelessly Classic Manhattan hat looks remarkably like my dear old TOTES rain hat. Both are Trilby style (narrow brim) with Fedora pretenses (high dimpled crown). Both are made from a wool-ish material that repels water, which is perfect for a rain hat. Both have remarkably low prices. The one I received is darker than the desertcart photo, but that's fine with me, because it's exactly like my old hat. Even more important, however, is the fact that the hat under review actually fits my fat XL head and is very lightweight, such that it feels like the old TOTES hat. Thank you Simplicity Unisex for restoring order to my world. I look forward to many new adventures in the new hat. P.S. You do realize this is all tongue in check, right? Cheers!

1940's Themed Holiday Party here I come!
My company is having a a giant Holiday Party in a fancy hotel, which they do every year. And every year, there is a theme to the party. Come to think of it, it's almost like a fancy Halloween party, in some regards. Anyway, this year the theme is the 1940's. So, my wife and I looked up pictures of what was common to that era and apparently, hats like this one were typical for the men to wear during that time along with suspenders instead of belts for pants and bow ties, too (but that's a review for another time ;) ) So, we ordered this hat to go with the rest of the outfit we were putting together for me. I was a little concerned that the hat might not be a good fit for my melon (head) but apparently a size 7 1/4" head is no problem for it. It fit rather nicely, in fact. A friend checked it out and also said it was a nice hat, if that means anything to anyone reading this review. Now, with that being said, you may be wondering why I only gave it 4/5 stars then instead of the full 5/5. The answer, which may be a little petty I admit, is this: There were two rather obvious threads hanging out that I had to trim with scissors when I got the hat. That may not be a big deal to some, but to me, it speaks a little bit to the *possible* level of quality and craftsmanship that went into making the hat. I sincerely hope that it is meaningless, but if by chance, I actually start wearing this hat regularly beyond this party that I'm going to, I hope that it will last for awhile. Chances are though that I will just wear it for the party and then put it in a closet until the next occasion that calls for it. If that's the case, then I'm sure it will be fine. I don't know, maybe I'm being too critical...? Maybe it's a character flaw of mine to knock a star off for two hanging threads...? I'll let you be the judge of that. In the meantime, I will continue to rate this item at 4/5 stars for now. I may change that rating later - time will tell.

Comfortable with Felt strip glued to inner band !!
For the price, a nice little hat. Arrived with brim bent oddly, but what the heck, it's a cotton fedora. NOTE: Mine had no adjustment string, thus the added strip of ordinary felt glued to inside of headband. With a good hat I wear 7 1/4- 7 3/8. Those are $ 100-200 hats. This one dropped down onto my ears. I guess the positive is that it is lightweight, accepts adjustments easily; just a tiny bit of "sweat-equity." I am picky, but found myself quite satisfied with this little fedora--at 90* F. and humid, it feels light, handles sweat and has the "old bluesman" look I wanted to go with my brass bodied acoustic guitar and snow-white beard and beat-up 74 year old hands. "Damn Right I Got the Blues"--Buddy Guy I have run through Amazon's Panama Fedoras and I am a bit disappointed. A quality Panama fedora with the classic short brim is non-existent. I'll have to settle for the Stetson Genuine Panama with a bit more brim than I really want. However, it is a "sized" hat, so I know how it will fit from experience with Stetsons past. But for $17, how can one complain about the little navy-blue fedora?

Beautiful Blue
I love the quality, the size is perfect (large) the height and brim is perfect! and most of all it’s a TRUE Navy Blue! I’m sure I will be ordering another color (gray)! Please produce more colors, I need a black or brown lol

Good Hat, Unless The Wind Blows
This hat looks fine but the 'one size for all' basically means you could put it on a basketball with room to spare. If a breeze comes along, you're going to be chasing this hat down the street because it's so large. I can't imagine whose head this hat would snugly fit. Andre the Giant maybe, but he's dead so we'll never know.

Awesome hat
The hat was ordered for a party and the quality of the hat is one of the BEST and the price is great. The way the hat is packaged is very impressive and one of the best packing l've seen. THE quality they put in the hat and the packing is worth the cost. I ordered a red one too. I can't say enough about how well the packaging of the hat is and the plastic hat mold that the hat is placed on. The plastic hat mold kept the hat in perfect shape. I plan to order all my hats from them. I can't wait to receive the red one l ordered. Thank you for a GREAT Product and QUALITY!!! VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE PACKAGE OF THE HAT.
