AWS Cookbook: Recipes for Success on AWS

An AWS “culinary” masterpiece…
As a new AWS practitioner I found this “cookbook” held the recipes for lasting success! The book is very detailed yet reads as if it were truly a simple cookbook. Clear and concise examples guide the reader to formulate concise and concrete conclusions and solutions. I especially enjoyed the challenge sections which elevated my knowledge level on the particular chapter that was taught. The authors did a fantastic and thorough job educating you on AWS. The book was a very quick and enjoyable read for me and while I typically don’t like these types of technical books because they often time make me feel like I’m in college again-this book stood out in a very great and helpful way. The book was highly recommended on Amazon.com and among two fellow AWS users I know. I am very glad I gave the book a chance-you won’t want to miss it! Pickup a copy today.

Great resource for AWS experts and novices (like me)!
I was tipped to this book by a colleague who is an expert in AWS within our organization. As someone who works in a sales organization, I don't necessarily need to know all the in-depth things my delivery colleagues do, but this book truly helps a sales guy understand the art of the possible within AWS. From introductions of basic concepts such as syntax, nomenclature, to overall architecture. The way concepts are presented in quickly reusable snippets, make them relative throughout many aspects of day-to-day deployment and management of AWS resources. I can't recommend this book enough, it'll be a regular re-read to reinforce concepts for me to be successful in aligning with my customers questions and needs.

It cooks!
Not sure why it focused on the command line as opposed to the console. The AWS jargon was a bit advanced and not always explained. It relies heavily on prepped code samples. The discussion sections came after the recipe steps. I would have preferred more of this type of explanation before the steps. That said, when I started focusing on the recipe concepts (as opposed to actually executing each recipe), there are a lot of great applied ideas and there is good, strategic coverage of the vast array of AWS offerings. I am more familiar with Azure, but this book had me searching for possible Azure equivalents. The discussion sections came after the recipe steps. I would have preferred more of this type of explanation before the steps. I liked this book a lot!

Excellent guide for the newbie; complete reference for the experienced
This is a great starting point for someone new to AWS and provides an excellent reference for the more experienced AWS administrator. The book is well organized and covers a wide range of relevant topics. It offers detailed solutions to problems; outlining implementation steps as well as validation checks. It also provides good references to additional information to support the implementation steps. This will prove to be a solid GOTO reference for many!

Outstanding Content AND labs!!!
Highly recommend purchasing! Extremely well written! Concise information on quite a gamut of topics is presented. Here's the problem, here's the worded/diagrammed solution, here's how we solve it via the CLI, let's conclude with a brief discussion on the topic/problem. Next topic...These bite-sized chunks are great for digesting the information. Outstanding cookbook!

I bought this book by sheer of luck. It's an amazing book that contains a lot of receipts to work with the AWS Cloud, even if you are not quite familiar with AWS.

Great resource for beginners and long time users alike.
I have been working with AWS services for 10 years but looking to improve my developer skills as well as learn some best practices and new skills in areas such as containers and AI. When looking for resources on line there are lots of documentation and examples but they are all binary and often hard to adapt to individual use cases. This is where I turned to the AWS Cookbook with the goal of helping me create and stich together pieces of code to take my knowledge to the next level. So far I have completed the examples in the first 2 chapters and it doesn't disappoint at all. As well as providing great, real world, use cases to work through it also provides clear guidance on the why an not just the how. One of the challenges can be understanding how everything fits together when just googling for an answer and as a result it can be hard to implement the idea. With the AWS Cookbook it sets out the process as well as steps needed to completed. All of this is backed by a full Git repository for each chapter so you can work with valid code from the get go.As a long time AWS professional I still have learnt a lot, even in the areas I am certified. "Tricks" such as using AWS Secrets Manager to generate a password or random string mean I can now code everything without relying on 3rd party tools. If I am learning things it the areas I know I am certain I will learn significant skills when I get to the areas such as AI/ML that I do not know.Would recommend this to people starting out or using AWS for a while. I am sure my copy will become well worn.

Great book with practical solutions explained in very detailed way.
Each recipe is very detailed, with the use of cli commands making each actions programmatic, to me it ties together many concepts into digestible small recipe, it really helped me improve my knowledge and deep understanding of AWS much quicker than the online documentation (which is great but usually very deep about one particular point while the book goes to the right level of detail for the action considered which makes is really good for learners).

I needed a manual for building on AWS. It was recommended to me.
I haven’t used it just as yet but comes highly recommended.
