FABULOUS and DELICIOUS…My FAVORITE BALSAMIC VINEGAR
I have tried and gifted many brands of balsamic vinegar over the years. I have settled on La Secchia as my favorite. I love their rich, elegant, complex depth of flavor.. I enjoy the 5 star and DOP 12 Red Label (aged for minimum 20 years) and DOP 25 Gold Label (aged for a minimum of 35 years) The DOP 12 (aged for minimum 20 years) is my daily favorite.. Looking forward to trying the 1959 (aged for minimum of 60 years) someday La Secchia is unique. Their Traditional DOP Red Label which is required to be aged for a minimum of only 12 years, La Secchia ages for a minimum of 20 years. Similarly, their Traditional DOP Gold Label which is required to be aged for only 25 years, La Secchia ages for a minimum of 35 years. This ADDITIONAL AGING that LA SECCHIA gives, bestows their balsamic greater depth and character of flavor compared to other brands. La Secchia’s policy also gives us greater tasting pleasure and value.

Outstanding balsamic vinegar, fair price
Outside of Italy, this is a great value for a great quality DOP grade balsamic. This is a 2-pack, the 12yr and 25 yr both. Though I have yet to open the 12 year, I have been using the Extra Vecchio and it is incredible! I expect the 12yr to be nearly as good, and I'll update my review once I actually dig into the 12yr also. I consider it like this- you are buying a bottle of very good, top notch extra vecchio (25+ yr) balsamic vinegar for a very fair price (in the USA) of $170. And you are getting a $100+ value bottle of 12yr DOP for free! Update: I have opened the Affinato (12 year) and it is also very good! You can't go wrong with these, both are fantastic DOP grade balsamic vinegars, and the price is very fair for the excellent quality. I also recommend the 5-Star IGP from this same producer; for a more affordable everyday use balsamic, it is the best IGP I have ever tried!

This is a wonderful comples Balsamic vinegar.
I have been using a bottle of really good Balsamic for years, just doing it a few drops at a time on special dishes. When it ran out, I decided to splurge on a 35 year, "tradizionale" Balsamic. I am really glad I did. Yes, it's pricey, but as I said, I only use drops at a time, and it comes with a very handy doser top which makes it very easy to pour just a drop or two at a time. It seems that some people only believe that Balsamic should get sweeter as it is aged, but that is not entirely true. It is a vinegar. There should be traces of both the sweet and sour, with neither being overpowering. That is the exact spot that this vinegar hits. After pouring whatever I need through the doser, I pull it out of the bottle, and just let any drips fall on my tongue. You don't want to waste a drop.

Delicious
I recieved this item as a Christmas present. The taste is very delicious. The way the bottle is presented in the packaging is nice as well. Outside of high end restaurants, I haven't had the opportunity to have real balsamic vinegar in my posession. The taste cannot be and should not be compared to anything you purchase in a grocery store. It is pricy, but if you are a true lover of the real deal, I think this is a solid purchase. I will use it sparingly since it's not a lot, but it is a true treat!

WOW, real balsamic
I read about traditional balsamic in a post, might have been on Quora. I love balsamic vinegar, and had to try a real traditional balsamic. All I can say is WOW. The taste is amazing. This is not a salad dressing, it is a finish sauce, use it as a drizzle for extra flavor. I have drizzled it on salads, chicken, fish and tomatoes for a flavor treat. The traditional process of reducing the grape over years, to its syrup consistency creates a magical taste that is beyond compare. I highly recommend this very fine Balsamic.

Great quality and taste!!
I did a lot of research for my first try at Modena Balsamic Vinegar PDO. I wanted something at the 25 year or older range and not break the bank at the same time. I chose La Secchia and I was NOT disappointed! This is such a great and affordable balsamic. I purchased some real Parma Prosciutto and Parmigiana Reggiano to try with the La Secchia. The three were a match made in heaven. The La Secchia was so smooth, silky, sweet yet tart, it melted in the mouth. The coup de grace was to try it on some premium vanilla ice cream, and what a treat. You cannot go wrong with La Secchia and I will be going back for more. THANK YOU LORENZO RIGHI!!

Great 'proper' balsamic', nothing like the cheap balsamic vinegar you get in supermarkets. This is thick, sweetish and delicious. Brilliant for adding to salads. It's expensive for sure, but its worth it for restaurant quality balsamic.
