The Blipblox requires an external keyboard that has a 5-pin DIN MIDI OUT port. Some keyboards are designed exclusively to interface with a computer, and those often only have a USB-MIDI port. You won't be able to play the Blipblox with a keyboard that only has USB-MIDI. The Blipblox uses 5-pin DIN MID because that is the standard on professional music equipment like drum machines, sequencers and groove boxes. Hi, The Blipblox is a real synthesizer, and as such it can create sound with a wide dynamic range. Because of this, Playtime Engineering discourages headphone use by children.
