Excellent night light with several different kinds of light
The vendor was Gear Express in Utah. My package was promptly delivered by US Mail.I am very pleased with this night-light. I am a horseman and a geologist, so often have to work in the evenings after sunset. There were several dozen night lights posted on Amazon, and so I carefully studied the features of each. Am very pleased with this model, and recommend it to others. This headlamp has 300 lumens at the maximum, but can easily switch to lower lighting. It also has a dim red light that will not disturb a horse's eyes or another human. This headlamp uses three AAA batteries, but there is another option to purchase a rechargeable battery pack that cleverly fits into the same headlamp. This is a recommended model.

Love it!
I was trying to decide what headlamp brand to buy and I went for Petzl. I must say I love it. It is super light weight and so comfortable that sometimes I even forgot I was wearing it. It was so useful that I had to borrow it for my friends because they didn’t like theirs or because they ran out of battery haha.If you camping, this is the one to buy, I highly recommend it.

Just works the way it should
Works great and the battery lasts long! Bright! What I like about this is that there is no silly battery pack with wires and unnecessary stuff. Simple, small battery compartment behind the LED.

Good value and really good light
Great headlamp. As a biologist who goes on long expeditions to find nocturnal micro-arthropods in tropical rainforest, I need an excellent and reliable source of light to be able to see these shy and elusive creatures, while being able to switch from short range to long range vision and spot my surroundings at 100+ meters while navigating the forest at night. I have used a whole ton of headlamps, and I was very happy with the Princeton Tec Apex, but its heavy. Now I am happier with this Petzl Actik, because it gives me the same (or more?) power at a fraction of the weight! (that also means one fewer strap on my head). The batteries in this one also last longer, and since they are AAA, the overall weight of batteries for a 30 day trip goes also down, which is great when you are backpacking.Bike Tip: Recently I also started using it on my helmet when I go for nocturnal bike rides, it works both ways, as a white front light, or as a tail light if I put it on the back of the helmet and in the red blinking mode.Pros:-Lightweight-Pocketable-Great battery life-Waterproof tested in a long expedition to the Amazon rainforest-Great light, really bright-Good red light, strong enough-Easy to replace batteriesCon:The elastic strap stretches a lot after getting wet with rain/sweat. It looks very bad, and it doesn't seem like Petzl sells a replacement, and if so, it looks like it will be really hard to change it. That's the reason I am taking one star.

Worth it
I did the comparison of all headlamps in it’s class and I am so glad I made this choice. It works flawlessly and is extremely bright; in fact, I have never had to use the brightest setting. Definitely recommend.

Best Headlamp for the Money
Man I love Petzl. This this is super bright, comfortable and I love the red & low light settings. My wife and I used them in Olympic National Park and they put our old headlamps to shame. If you are on the fence, just get one - you won't be dissapointed. Talk about quality.

Doesn't live up to the brand in my opinion
I've gotten Petzl headlamps before, and I've always been relatively happy with them. When my last one would no longer hold a charge on the batteries for longer than a n hour or two, I did not hesitate to get a new Petzl. This one has a brighter light (300 lumens versus my previous 250), but otherwise, I'm not convinced it was worth going with the Petzl name here- overall, I'm pretty disappointed. For one thing, the whole casing feels pretty cheap and not of great quality. The button at the top is difficult to push and it's really hard to remember how many pushes/how long you need to push to get the lighting you want (it cycles through from dim to bright, but to get red light you need to hold it for longer). And, for the first time, this headlamp hurts my face to wear. Overall, I don't really feel like I can recommend it, I'm pretty disappointed, and might consider going with a different brand in the future.Pros:Has a red light (this is important to me as I work with animals)300 lumen bulb is certainly a pretty solid light3 brightness levels is convenient and also helps save batteryBattery life is decentOnly uses 3 AAA batteries at a timeCons:Uncomfortable to wearVariable lighting conditions (particularly red light and strobe) are difficult to get toRelatively expensiveMy husband purchased a Black Diamond headlamp for around the same price, it had a brighter light bulb (400 lumens), has a blue and a green light option (not sure what you'd use it for, but it's there), seemed more comfortable, and was slightly cheaper.

Has the red light feature for photographers.
Not a lot of use yet but it looks great, the features all work great. It seems to be well made and is comfortable to wear. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Brilliant piece of kit, excellent VFM
I've been around LED lights for years and normally purchase quite expensive top end lights for mountain biking.Always skeptical of lumen output claims and didn't have high hopes for this. The output is amazing, good clear and crisp light, tilting the light is easy and it's comfortable to wear. Very impressive for the money.I'll be buying the rechargeable battery too, makes sense given the cost of non rechargeable batteries.

Fantastica!
