Not what I'd hoped for
Box contained 4 boards that were 9 1/2 x 11 1/2 , and 1" thick and two smaller boards, so it was about 3/4 full and of that I can use about half of the wood due to large splits, knots, and one board had signs of insect activity. I understand this is "scrap wood" but it is advertised as a "full box", so it was disappointing on a few points besides useable quality. I could have purchased S4S clear red oak and had more usable wood for less money. Also, while the material can be returned, there is a 20% "restocking fee".

Fine value but not the boards I was looking for
This is a very nice box of wood, but unfortunately I received the "Assorted Thin Boards" but I ordered the "Thicker Boards, All Red Oak." Seller was very nice and immediately offered to resend. I will update the review with more photos of the red oak when it arrives. If you are looking for thin boards these are a good assortment, fine quality, and not too warped. They would be great for lasering or sign-making. A good value.Editing 7/28 to add, the seller kindly shipped another box, priority mail, after I wrote and asked about getting the 3/4 red oak I ordered. The box arrived today, basically destroyed by the post office. This box is definitely scrap wood, it's still not 3/4" red oak. All the scraps are thicker than 1". There is a variety of sizes, all >12". Most pieces are cracked and dirty or moldy. The surfaces are in rough shape. If you buy, just be prepared what you ordered may not be what you get.Editing again to add, several of the boards are termite damaged - one of them actually has a squished termite in it. So I now need to treat the whole box. Not okay. Reduced to one star.

Useable board size to defect ratio
Too many dead and missing knots bad log ends decrease useable board size.

Very useable red oak!
I’ve ordered several of these the past few months. The red oak has been great. It’s 3/4 to 1” thick. True, nice stuff. I do a lot of scroll sawing...modeling, puzzles, dioramas etc. these are great to scroll saw rip down to 1/4x3/4x10 or 12. You can’t get modeling dimensional lumber at this price..in red oak! As it arrives it’s great for a good flat slab for dioramas...A solid red oak base for $2 bucks...great deal. Be creative guys... You can’t go wrong.

Good Purchase!
I am totally pleased with this box of wood. I ordered the 3/4 inch thick so I didn't figure I'd get but maybe 8 to 10 pieces. There were 17 pieces. This is all I will need for quite some time.

Wow
This was a deal for short pieces of excellent red oak, all about 12 inches long. All usable wood and the box was packed tight. Very satisfied with this purchase.
