New basement apartment in older house. Has some kind of drain/maintenance hole in the middle of the floor of one of the rooms. Crappy maintenance guys had plugged it with a normal 3 inch cleanout plug I assume in order to prevent backflow from the sewage system during rain. Only problem with the standard version of these plugs is that they have a large bolt that sticks up a good 2 inches from the floor and make for an incredibly dangerous foot impaling, tripping hazard, toe breaking, death trap. Absolutely not meant for this purpose, and dangerous. This product solved that problem wonderfully. It sits mostly flush, and is a good low key color. The fitting was tight, but this was not being fitted directly into a pipe. It was slightly larger than the original 3inch plug that had been installed, but it did fit. I would caution against trying to use this for 3 inch pipe directly as I believe it is designed for the flared part of pipe fittings, not the pipe itself. TLDR: For my unique and very specific use case, this was a perfect product. Can not vouch for other uses.

The unit would have been great but the concrete around the drain would not allow the plug to seat properly. Like the idea that it is flush but didn’t work based on my existing conditions

An old brass cover on the driveway kept falling through the hole whenever a car drove over it. The hole was larger than 3 3/8 inches. This fit well and could be tightened so it doesn’t move. No problems with car tires. Very happy result.

Good price but none functional. This measure 3.25" but says 3". Did not fit my 3" pipe.

This has 4 parts: 2 plastic disks held together with a stainless-steel screw, with an expandable gasket sandwiched between the 2 plastic disks. The gasket is meant to seal a pipe opening once you insert the entire unit into a pipe opening. It appears to me that the smaller disk is at risk of coming loose and falling into your pipe opening (and potentially irretrievably deep into your pipe) when you go to remove the whole unit. This can result in a major problem, possibly blocking your sewer drain-pipe if that's what you use it for (like most users, I presume). Also, the threaded part of the small disk which accommodates the screw is simply threaded into the plastic, which can easily strip the plastic threads, in my opinion. The only thing I like about it is the stainless screw has a hollow threaded center which can accommodate a 1/4 inch machine screw which can attach a metal cover plate onto the top of the entire unit.
