What cameras are you using that work? i bought a wansview w5 pack of 4 and they are absolute crap. i need wifi cameras that don't require internet

i use IP cameras from hikvision Mostly models DS-2CD2185FWD-IS and DS-2CD2142FWD-I. So does my friend on his synology server. They also use some Amcrest cameras and the qsee ones that came with a kit from costco. I have tried the wireless ones from Amcrest but the setup was more involved and I did not like the night vision as much. No internet required for the private network.

If I purchase licenses here will the key-codes be available right away?

No, key-codes are within the packet and cannot be opened by the seller.

The synology website says: "in surveillance station, go to main menu > license > then click add."i don't have to option "add" but also no cameras yet?

Don't think you can do license managment unless the Network Video Recorder(NVR) is offline. Maybe yours is running.

I am planning to have 10 camera on ds218+ nas having 10gb ram. i am using nas for data & backup. do you think, ds218+ would handle load of 10 cameras?

As I understand it, DS218+ is vintage 2017. Its specs include a Celeron processor. It’s a capable NAS but as you are using it for data storage and backup, the number, type and resolution of your cameras might create a big processing load for the NAS. One site states a maximum load of 25 cameras running at 720p with nothing else but Surveillance Station running. 10 cameras at 720p with a low number of frames per second might work well but 1080p or 4K cameras at a higher number of frames per second might overwhelm the processor. You might be able to find a review online who tested your NAS with in a configuration similar to your or you could speak with Synology Tech Support for more info
