Great product works like a charm

Love the Stainless Steel Metal Paper Tearing Ruler for Cutting Paper. Edges turn out exactly how I want giving me the rugged ness I'm looking for tear. This item was affordable. It's easy to use, durable, and works well.

I believe I purchased the metal option B Wavy Tearing Ruler. It appears to be nice and sturdy and is a decent size. The right or, curvy side of the rule is nice but, it will require a water brush or paintbrush dipped in some water to outline the wavy side to make tearing easier. I think it will also work well for drawing curvy lines on paper, cardstock, or chipboard. It does have a slot down the middle you can use with a craft knife or rotary cutter to assist you in safely but slowly cutting cardstock, chipboard or other items. For safety sake, I would suggest flipping the ruler around so you are holding down the curvy side when cutting with a sharp blade. There is a scary part to this metal ruler. I know, I know...it is a metal tearing ruler but, the left side of the ruler is very jagged and sharp. You can tear dry paper (tested up to 32 lb paper) easily on the left side without wetting; however, you must be EXTREMELY CAREFUL you don't cut or rip your skin when using. I would STRONGLY recommend choosing an acrylic or different type of tearing ruler to avoid serious accidents, especially if you have children.

Nicely made with sharp edges that do a great job at rearing even heavier papers.

Another reviewer complained that the ruler rusted. My ruler arrived with a tiny spot of rust, but I do plan to use it with wet mediums, so I will have to be careful to dry it carefully when I use it. One side -- the larger deckle side -- produces a pretty unsatisfactory edge, so it won't be much use for me. I bought it for the smaller deckle side, so I'm sure I'll be able to get some use from it. There are more expensive deckle rulers available and if you want both sides to produce deckle edges that meet your needs, you might want to think about investing in a different ruler. For now, I'm satisfied, but not overjoyed.

Very sturdy metal. Works best with paper, will tear card but best to rip more slowly.
