DOMINOX Electric Hot Wire Foam Cutter - Tabletop Tool for Cutting Foam, Styrofoam, Model Making & Sculpting

I read some reviews that said it wobbled too much, that’s user error. You need to tighten the wire before the first use, you should be able to play a note on it. Pluck the wire like a guitar string and listen for a nice ring. The right edge of the foam was cut on a table saw and the left was cut by the hot wire. The wire cut was way smoother. The only thing I didn’t like was the markings on the bed are in metric or something. Definitely not inches. Not a huge deal since I use a jig for repeat cuts and usually measure it with a tape anyway.

Great value. It is very easy to set up. You can cut different shapes and sizes. Cuts are sharp and smooth I do a lot of DYI project and have tried many other cutters and this is by far the very best and affordable price

The DOMINOX Electric Hot Wire Foam Cutter works, but it definitely has room for improvement. I wish the wire structure was sturdier — it moves a little too easily, which makes it hard to get precise cuts. The guide also tends to get stuck on the metal, so transitions aren’t as smooth as they should be. The base could’ve been a bit larger for better stability and control, especially when working with bigger pieces of foam. It gets the job done, but with a few design tweaks, it could be a much better tool overall.

Item arrived damaged in a damaged box and the only return option is a ups store 1.5 hours away. Also the power is not adjustable so this thing gets red hot a melts a very wide cut in foam.

The measurements are a bit funky so you need to make sure its adjusted perfectly. There's spare wire in the spool if you break it

It does what I expected it to do and I have had no problems after using it for about a month. One note is that the measurements printed on the board are metric, so if using inches you might want to premeasure or use a ruler when setting up.

Simple, gets the job done and is (mostly) accurate. It's compact and folds near flat. I wish the gauge of wire was just a tiny bit lower , but if you just want to cut foam in a straight line or draw contours around objects, then this is the last purchase you'll make, which is about the highest praise I can give it.

Machine works great after a few failed attempts. Gave it 4 stars cause they don't tell your the the measurements on the table are in CM and not in inches so I had to measure out my own spacing from the wire and mark with a marker, also the wire is cheap broke 6 time in first hr of use, would replace, I bought the thinnest guitar string and it's been working great since. But overall a good machine for the price.

I decided to upgrade from a cheap wire cutter to this product for making RPG tabletop foam terrain and it works beautifully. I was surprised that it was crafter mostly from wood, but the wire heats up instantly and cuts like butter. It even has less of a smell and fumes than the cheaper cutter tools. It was also very easy to setup, very worth the price if you are into making arts and crafts or other foam objects!

Good products but the wire is terrible. Breaks very easily so the value isn’t great
