Is this hon, shio, or shin mirin?

This is not hon, shio, or shin marin. It's aji mirin which means "tastes like mirin." It's not true mirin at all. That's why the word sake does not appear anywhere on the label.

Aji Mirin = sweet cooking wine Mirin = cooking wine It depends on which products that you're comparing with, some of them contains low volume of alcohol and some not.

What are the ingredients in this item?

Per the ingredients list: glucose syrup, water, alcohol, rice, corn syrup and salt.

This product has no expiration date on the product. How do you tell the expiration date?

Mine also had no expiration date. I do not recommend this product. Very little of it is Mirin and much consists of extenders such as corn syrup. It imparts a fake, hyper-sweet taste to a dish. I still have it in my cabinet because it was too cold to put in the compost where it is going soon. Please more careful than I was in reading the list of ingredients and buy the real thing.
