This adds the perfect sweetness to any of my Asian inspired dinners. After using it, I can’t live without it. This brand is my favorite of all the ones I have tried. It really adds that flavor that I felt was missing from my sauces. It’s a good value too, the bottle lasts awhile.

I couldn’t find this at a local store, so online was the way to go. It tastes fresh, the bottle was durable and not damaged, so no leaks. It’s a good size bottle for the price, and I’ve used it for a lot of different recipes.

I really wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered this. I knew it was used for cooking, but I wasn't sure what kind of flavor it would have. But after trying it out in a few dishes, I am absolutely in love with it. It isn't harsh in any way, but it provides a nice flavor to anything you add it to. Since it has alcohol, you can use it to make nice glazes and sauces, and the sugar in it allows you to caramelize steaks, vegetables, and other items you pan fry with it. I like to use it on pork steaks to give it that tiny hint of sweetness to compliment them. I also mix it in to my sticky rice, and it can be used to make desserts as well as savory foods, really amping up the flavor. It won't overpower anything with its flavor, but it will definitely add to it. It has a wonderful balance. Will definitely get again.

I like having mirin on hand for cooking, but it's hard to find locally. I was glad to find it on Amazon. A bit more expensive, but happy I can get it!

used several times in stir fry, all came out good but I dont know what it adds the dish?

Recently I've made a couple of Chinese dishes, chicken fried rice and a stir fry like chicken chow mein. I used regular white wine for them instead of the rice cooking wine they called for, of Mirin was also mentioned as a substitute, and it tasted ok, they literally only require a few tablespoons per recipe. I bought this though and it made the recipes even better. Not sure why this stuff is so hard to find, have not found a local grocery store that sells it, so even though it's expensive here in comparison to sites online I've seen it on in the US, it really makes a difference in the Chinese dishes, so it's worth it to just get it, even if more costly.
