Good book, for learning how to harden and temper steel at your forge.

This book is not worth the money
I bought this book to learn the correct way to heat treat and temper my knife blades as I forged them. This book only tells how tempering and heat treating is done in a factory and not how to heat treat in a small home forge set up.

Excellent book for the hobbyist machinist or blacksmith.

Waste of reading effort.
This is practically ancient text. I wanted a solid overview on the subject, practical do's and don'ts, but this is not that.
