Gen II 4-Digit Combination Lock 132177

I bought this to replace one I had lost - and of course found no long after! So I was able to compare one of the original models to the Gen II. They work well - I use it to lock my helmet as its difficult to get the ring through the hook, and you have to lift the seat to do so. I have had the first one for several years and admit you could cut through it - but you can with most things. I can see little difference between the two generations - they are the same shape and size. Its possible the II is a bit smoother to operate the lock, but that may just be weathering of the original. I also have the long wire cable and have used that to lock my jacket in place. The locks are small and easy to store - or you can just lock it to you bars so its easy to find when you need it. I highly recommend this item if you ride motorcycles or bicycles.

Works like a charm. There is no guarantee that someone won't just cut the straps on my helmet and take it anyway, but I usually use it at the college where they actually have security cameras so I am comfortable leaving my helmet with my bike for a few ours. The rubber around the lock protects my handle bars from being scratched and guarantees a solid resting position so your helmet isn't just shaking everywhere and slamming on your controls or the gas tank. A four digit code and easy way to set it up definitely sealed the deal for me.

This is simple and clever. I had to spend a little time figuring out the best place to locate this when locking my helmet to my bike, but once I figured out the optimal location, it was great. I use constantly on my scooter and locking my helmet to the handle bars. I arrange the lock so the tumbler dials always face up so it's easy to unlock. The latch that you pull back to open it is simply and words great. The coating on this is great as well and it doesn't scratch the paint. Just be sure to work out how you attach it because the tumbler dial areas can scratch your paint, but realistically if it does scratch your paint it's a user error. Not the product's fault. Really nice and simple design. Love it.

Good stuff, string, and saves the day, a must for expensive helmets or related stuff.

I expected this lock to be a little heavier - it is light for its size. Setting my own combination was straight-forward, but it took a few times to get the switch to move into the correct position. It didn't move into that position easily, I was afraid I might break it. The lock works fine, just not sure how long it will last.

This arrived unlatched in a bag with the T-Bar, with no instructions. I found instructions online and attempted to set to 0000 to test the functionality and reset the code. No go. This is completely useless.The fact that it did not come in retail packaging with instructions, and apparently already has a code set which I do not know, makes me wonder if this is already used.UPDATEI went ahead and ordered another, directly from Amazon Prime, that was pictured in retail packaging (roughly the same price too). Upon receiving the new one, it is obvious that I received a previously used Helmetlok from this listing.There is evidence of wear where the lock latches, and because of the unknown code set I couldn't latch it myself, so this is wear from previous use. Compared to the new one, the Hinge on this one is way loose, and the locking portion cants way off to the side and feels flimsy. On the new one the lock and hinge feel solid. See photos.Receiving a used product that is useless due to an unknown code being set is completely unacceptable.

Just got this over the weekend, very easy to set the code and it seems like good solid lock. the numbers are a little stiff to turn but I'm sure with use they will loosen up.

I absolutely love this lock. Some reviews say its hard to fumble with the number dial. I say, not at all. Others say the little switch to set the code is easy to break off. I say, do you have bionic fingers or what. this is a very sturdy switch. Another review even marked it down because it don't fit in the hole on a locker. I say, DUUUUU! Read the side of the lock, it says "HELMETLOK" not locker lock.I'm not trying to piss off anyone but people need to understand, this is a lock designed to discourage thieves, not to lock up your treasure. And it will do just that. It is a strong lock that would take some doing to defeat. I would absolutely recommend this item. Five stars baby!
