Old flasks beware.
Bummer it does not fit my Salomon Speed flasks from circa 2018. The threads fit my Nathan soft flasks though, with only one starting thread. If your Salomon flasks have two starter threads like mine... this filter will leak and thus not filter anything.

You need one in your pack...
I can't believe it's taken me so long to get one of these. For years I've been running in the mountains and using tablets to sterilise stream water. This is a game changer...I pull off the bite valve and fill a spare bottle with stream water then screw on the filter. Add Tailwind (stickpax) into an empty flask and then fill that flask with the filtered water. Mix and ready to drink straight away. Can fill the spare flask with steam water and drink immediately through the filter...Easy to clean... I soak for an hour in clean tap water which has a Sterilisation tablet in, the same I use to clean my bottles/flasks... I use Milton's, but any baby bottle type Sterilisation tablets will work. I then flush through a couple flasks worth of the sterilisation water. Pull the grey plastic out of the bite valve and use the rubber to attach two flask tops together, you can then flush a couple flasks worth of the Sterilisation water through in reverse. Then repeat the process with clean water...This (and the spare flask) is now part of my packed running kit whenever I'm in the mountains...

Filter didn’t work w my Salomon softflasks
The threads of this filter were not compatible with my Salomon Softflasks (Speed, 500 mL w/ 42 mm opening). The bottles wouldn’t seal and this filter was worthless to me.
