Coming from a few cheap dash cams to this one ... WOW. I wasted my life on the cheap crap
I had a couple dash cams that worked for a bit and turned out to be garbage... why where they garbage? they either got to hot or just didnt record. I have one that I was using that I had to set the time every time it turned on or it wouldnt record. You can tell that most of the dash cams are "commodity" based technology, meaning they are just copies of other dash cams with a different name or label. Also, if a dash cam vendor doesnt have a website to provide firmware, move along... DO NOT BUY ITLike I said, I had a few dash cams and I was just getting pissed off everytime I would look at my dash cam not recording ... so I did my research and wanted something reliable. I didnt want my family to get into an accident and not have a commodity based dash cam not working.I found this one ... you can tell this product was designed by people that used and installed a dash cam. The connections are grouped on the side and not the top or in some place that makes it difficult to remove or connect. The cables are good quality and not some super cheap old technology mini-usb trash connectors that break off.The app and the firmware just show you this is a good product. You can buy a cheap dash cam... but you have to ask yourself... will that bite you when you are in an accident and you find out it didnt record or was such garbage, it wasnt even working and you didnt know it? now imagine if that footage showed it wasnt your fault ... it is worth the extra coin ... believe me...

Great for peace of mind, some small quirks
We purchased this dashcam after getting our first car, as we have seen enough crazy drivers to be concerned about documenting possible problems for insurance and liability reasons. After doing some research online, this camera kit fit our budget and got mostly good reviews.Running the cables for this dashcam was pretty easy in our RAV 4 once we knew the location of all the airbags. This is actually very important! While it would likely not be too much of an issue to have a non-fixed cable crossing an airbag, why risk it? There was more than enough cable for the rear camera to go around our A pillar so that we could completely avoid the airbags, then still route through the car trim to the back window. Similarly, there is a lot of cable for the 12V outlet cable; in fact, it was too much for our setup and we had to stash it behind some trim on the passenger side. The included cable clips are nice for managing the cable routing, and are not too noticeable. Depending on the surface you’re sticking them to, however, we had one that didn’t want to stick.Similarly, installing the cameras is super easy. The included adhesive (same for both front and back cameras) does need to be stuck to a warm surface, so installing this camera in the Canadian winter meant we had to leave the windshield defrost on for a few minutes before the mount stuck. Once it was on though, it stayed stuck on and doesn’t move. When positioning the camera, it’s important to ensure that there is enough clearance to remove the camera from the mount if needed, as it slides out one side and this distance is important to consider. The quality of the video the cameras produce is about what I was expecting. Both record properly in Full HD, and the front camera at the elevated 60 FPS rate. The 60 FPS is great, as it does help when trying to get a clear view of signs or license plates as there is less blur. I sort of wish that I had gotten the 4K version, as this would help even more, but in general the FHD resolution is sufficient. Both cameras produce their own separate video files on the micro SD card, so if you want a combined view you’ll need to piece them together yourself. Additionally, at the default (highest) recording quality, the clip length is limited to 1 minute before a new file is started. These files do have a bit of overlap, so to combine them you’ll need to trim the start of each subsequent clip to match the end of the previous. Again, this isn’t a big deal and is good as it ensures nothing gets lost when the recording file changes.Feature-wise, there are quite a few configuration options in the camera’s firmware. These can be set via the camera’s app and built-in WiFi, or by inserting the memory card into a computer and using their viewer desktop app. The built-in WiFi is quite slow to transfer files, so if you need to pull more than 2 or 3 clips, you’re much better off taking the micro SD card and transferring directly from there (I picked-up an adapter for my phone to be able to do this on the go). Depending on the firmware version you’re using, connecting via the Blackvue app can be cumbersome and throw a few error messages before it finally works. This can be frustrating, but it doesn’t cripple the overall system. I also found that the default G-Sensor settings are way too sensitive and trigger event clips when driving normally. There are some additional settings, such as the information which is shown on the bottom of the videos, which are nice to be able to configure based on your own preferences (for example, I do not have my speed shown). The camera embeds GPS data (speed and position) in each video file, and this data can be seen in the Blackvue desktop app. I’m not sure how this data is stored, but it would be nice to be able to extract it myself without the need of their app. One big caveat with this storage method is that some video players and editors (such as Davinci Resolve) do not seem to like this embedded data, and may crash or not play the video. Running the video files through a converter (such as the one in VLC or the Windows Video Editor) removes this data and makes the files usable.Additionally, again depending on the firmware version, the G-Sensor settings may not work properly. On the latest version (as of Feb. 20, 2022), the parking mode settings apply to normal mode as well. This is a pain and not clear, but thankfully the Blackvue support team was able to suggest using just the parking mode settings as a fix for now. We’ll see if their next update resolves this issue, and I will update this review if so.Overall, this is a great dashcam. The video quality is good and there are many convenient features which you can configure. We’ll see how the camera holds up over time, but so far it’s looking pretty good. I would recommend this dashcam if you’re looking for a 2-camera system with 60 FPS forward recording!

Amazing quality. Blackvue is the king of dash cams.
This camera system is amazing. I went the cheap route and tried a rexing. After almost burning my hand on it, I returned it for this. This is very pricey, but it's quality is worth it. I was able to save money by getting a 256gb SanDisk high endurance card. I imagine most high endurance SD cards will work as well. Pay the money up front for piece of mind or try to skimp and pray.

Dash camera upgrade.
Have only used in daylight at present. Reasonable recording apart from number plate recognition. Wifi seems to be okay.Power Magic Pro seems to meet expectations re parking mode. Rear camera not connected yet. All in all I’m reasonably satisfied with the BlackVue DR750X-2CH.
