About the Author Hi, my name is Kathy Smith and I'd like to tell you a story. I grew up in a small town in central Maine, where life is supposed to be simple and wholesome. Mine was anything but...I dug my way out and at 18 I attended the University of Maine, same place where Stephen King honed his skills and sharpened his pencils. It was there that I discovered that there was a whole world outside of New England where I could go and explore and learn and fill in the missing pieces of my life; and so I began to travel. However, like many of us do, I settled down, married, and had the 2 most incredible kids that ever walked this earth. And like many of us do, I became a single parent, focusing on raising these incredible little people and developing their passions, their skills, talents, their quirks, and their personalities. But I could never shake the feeling that I was missing out on something; that there was more that I could be doing; that there was more that I could BE. So I started to travel again, going across the U.K. visiting historic places, exploring the most haunted castles, meeting fascinating people; and the most incredible story evolved from these travels. I'm not the most prolific writer and I am definitely not the best editor as I have a bad habit of breaking all of the literary rules which has made many literary agent's hair stand up on end. I loved the book
I loved the book, sure hope their are two others! Kathy is a most unique person, shes beautiful, intelligent and a super-Mom! I can say that because I'm HER Mother! And because its true! Shes a very talented young author and as a writer I think shes really gotit made. she knows how to hold a readers attention and how to spin a story that is interesting,romantic, suspenseful and well written. The literary world is a finer place with her books in it! Heres to you Kathy!! Remember the texting we did with Torrins song?

I am only a part of the way through this ...
I am only a part of the way through this story and I am hooked. The descriptions given in the book by the author; allows one to really visualize what she is trying to show us. I will come back with more once I am done reading.

Waiting impatiently for Kathy Smith's next release!
Kathy Smith's book is a fabulous read! I encourage everyone to find a quiet, serene place, and dive head on into "The Mural." I fell in love with Slieve Bloom and Torin... I can only wish to see them in my dreams again. Kathy's writing is so crisp - I can only hope the emotion I felt while reading justified the writer's own intent. I hope Kathy's next book is right around the corner!
