lasted 6 years
Its not bad for the price. Bought 2 of these(2017), so when the first one failed in 2023, I installed the spare. I then ordered a new spare. I don't directly run the 240V 2HP well pump, but use a 110v contactor through this float switch, so the small microswitch in this float does not have to deal with any inductive loads.

7 years service so far...
I bought and installed this float switch 7 years ago and put it in service on my home well water tank to control the well pump to a 1,000 gallon tank. Just ordered a 2nd switch as a spare. It has lasted longer than a more expensive float I bought originally. So far I haven't had any problems.

Switch requires steep angle to change from Off or On
For the price, this switch beats the competition in offering a N.O. and a N.C. option -- it can operate to fill a tank or to empty a tank, depending upon which two of the three wires are connected. That's great. The switch was just put into operation and what is worrisome: the size of the individual wires may be large enough for the current, but considering these switches are often outside or in wet areas, corrosion won't have too many wire strands to damage before there's nothing left. The biggest issue during install was the fact that the switch 'pod' seems like it must move through nearly an entire 180* up or down, before the contact ball rolls into the opposite connection point. In a shallow watering trough, that means you can't have very much cord between the pivot weight and the switch pod or else the switch won't operate. If there is less cord, the smaller section of wire will have to travel through a greater range of motion each time, which means metal fatigue should occur sooner with the small wires. Time will tell. The switch comes with a generous length of wire and reasonable instructions/diagrams.

Works well if installed in the right application, just not robust
I purchased these 3 years ago, with most float switches, if you limit the current it is switching it will extend the life of the switch. I used the switch to turn on a transistor, very low current. That transistor controls a relay that controls a contactor. The contactor turns on a pump and fills a tank. Being I love redundancy I have four instead of two. I installed 4 of them and two of them have failed. If they only last 3 years, i do not need them. The two that failed are the two that cycles the most, which tells me they are not that durable. Only lasted through 600 cycles. I'm still looking for a better cost effective solution but have not found it yet.
