Daily Light on the Daily Path Review: No comments, just scripture! - Just so you realize this is New King James I think you'll love it. Two reading per day. No comments. Make sure you read the story of how this family wrote this by praying for days before and after they choose scriptures to include. It took years to compile. I have been using this devotional for over 40 years and it is sometimes uncanny how verses fit my life on certain days. There is a whole community who read this everyday. Join us! Review: Best Devotional book on the market - Daily Light was written in the 1700s by Samuel Bagster. Through the years his family kept his papers and ultimately they were organized into this wonderful devotional book which was recommended to me by Anne Graham Lotz. Her family has used this book for years--Mrs. Lotz remembers her mother and grandmother using it and she uses it. There are many devotionals on the market but the unique feature about this one is that is totally Scripture. Each day's theme is composed of marvelously interwoven Scriptures from the Word of God. I think the Bible is the first and best book to read but I also feel this is the best devotional since it contains nothing but powerful Scriptures.

Best Devotion Audio Book
In my assessment, this is the best devotion book in the market, especially the audio version of it. It is helpful in memorizing biblical passages. It introduces you to non-familiar passages that you need to memorize. It contains only Bible passages, not stories of personal or national events. You will enjoy the reader’s voice. The background music is fantastic.

Very Nice Devotional
This paperback daily devotional is very nice and I think I'll keep it. Here are compliments to the publisher, and suggestions for improvements. The Morning and the Evening are printed on one page - this is great - keeps things simple and on the fewest pages possible. The artwork at the top on both sides of the date is a nice touch. I love how the reference to the scriptures is listed immediately after the scripture instead of along the bottom of the page as in other versions because it reminds you on the fly where that scripture is, and also allows for quick bible look-up if desired to dig deeper. The date and "Morning Reading" are centered at the top, with the main bible verse centered underneath is in italics. However the date and the "Morning Reading" and the "Evening Reading" are in much larger font size and in bold face which overshadows the main bible verse. I huge improvement would be to allow the main bible verse to have the front seat of attention, and to make the date and the 'Morning/Evening Reading" take the backseat. The date and "Morning/Evening Reading" and date do not have to be bold face, nor so large. The main verse needs to be bold face and larger font In fact, I suggest they relocate the date from top center to the top left of left hand page, and top right of right hand page. This will allow the readings, the meat and potatoes, to be front & center. And eliminate the fancy artwork that is currently on both sides of the date because with the new layout, artwork is not necessary. And I would also simply state "Morning" and "Evening" and eliminate "Reading" These simple changes would clean up each page with fewer distractions and a more logical layout for daily devotional reading. Keep in mind this book is intended to be read twice daily - morning and evening - and so with the frequency of having this book in hand with eyes on pages twice a day ever day of the year, it would be a much more pleasing personal experience. One other small improvement would be to increase the space between the reference location and the beginning of the next verse. Currently it has the Book of the bible followed by chapter and verse followed with an asterisk like this * with one space, and then the beginning of the next verse. I suggest this one space be doubled, perhaps even tripled. Good spacing in printing is always a good thing when reading, but often not considered when printing.

The whole council of God working together to create each daily message
This devotional is a bit different from many others. Each daily devotional is written using just scripture. So each day will have five or six or more verses from the Bible that pull together into one cohesive message. It is beautiful and encouraging and exactly what we should do with scripture. - consider the whole council of God. We see how the whole scripture works together to teach us the fullness of God’s message. I highly encourage you to get a copy of this book. And it makes wonderful gifts.

excellent devotional for family use
This devotional has been a tremendous blessing to our family (wife and 8 children, ages 18 to 6). After breakfast or supper, we read the verses for that time. After each verse, we ask if anyone knows where the verse is located in scripture (book, or book and chapter, or book/chapter/verse) in order to keep their interest high and to help them be familiar with "what is where" in scripture. After we have read all the verses, we ask them what theme the verses express. This helps them listen well and reflect on what they are hearing. It has been very edifying for us all. We also appreciate the fact that it is all scripture without interpretation; this allows the Holy Spirit to speak to our hearts however He will. Five stars!

Great Daily Reading!
I like this book because it is compiled of Scriptures only. Each day, verses with the same theme for the day, are set together. Really nice reading, without anyone's opinion...only the Bible.
