I gave these shoes a 4, you can’t remove the side laces and I’ve had more comfortable shoes. Overall, they are ok.

Boat shoe laces are meant to tie around the back of the shoe so that you can gather the heel of the shoe and tighten the sides evenly for a snug fit. These have the fake laces that are just for show on the sides. They are not true to size at all. In fact there are no multiple widths available so I assumed they were medium. I wear a medium width and they ended up being too wide. I bought them for the ortodic insert pad but when the cheap upper material keeps stretching the insert cannot make up for the unstable fit. The upper is literally streching like a cheap sock and wrinkling! The only real mistake was mine... not returning them immediately.

Very comfortable with solid arch support.
