Works great, but does fill up quick if using a semi soft cheese like cheddar. But with any hard cheese, like parmesean this grater is fantastic. We absoluty love it for topping chili, soup, pizza and pasta. Sure there are a few more. Great product that easyliy cleans up in the top dishwasher, so it is very sturdy. Very easy to assemble. Just drop the grater you want and screw the handle on and ready to go. Great quality for the price for sure.

My kitchen is full of Oxo products. All of them are well-designed and extremely functional--but I return to this company time and time again because their customer support is equally impressive. I stupidly lost the small plastic cap that closes off the collection chamber where the grated cheese falls, so I emailed Oxo to inquire about how I might purchase a replacement part. Amazingly, they just shipped me an entire new grater free of charge--despite me making it clear that this was my fault and not a warranty issue. That's why I always choose an Oxo product if possible. They really endeavor to wow their customers. This grater is very easy to use and clean. It's a cinch to assemble and operate, and it breaks down very quickly for washing. I only grate hard cheese, so soap is usually unnecessary. Hit it with hot water from your kitchen sink sprayer and you're good to go. Grate size is small enough that you can easily dispense the grated cheese from a shaker bottle designed for spices. Since the collection chamber mostly air-tight with the cap installed, you could also just leave the unused portion of grated cheese in the grater and stick the whole thing in the refrigerator. It doesn't take a lot of strength to grate hard parmesan, and the circular grating surface makes short work of the job. Fill the top chamber twice and you'll easily have enough grated cheese to fill a 6-ounce shaker bottle. The design is very simple, and there are no small parts to worry about (unless you brain cramp to the extent I did). Like all of my other Oxo products, this one is easy to recommend. This grater is sturdy and same quality as other OXO products I've had. This works beautifully on hard parmesan or romano cheese for pasta, pizza, ect. However, this grater DOES NOT WORK WITH SOFTER CHEESE. The finer grate teeth causes soft cheese to clog in the barrel. It does not come with another size grater barrel to change out like another brand I've had in the past. Do not buy this if you want to grate anything other than hard cheese.

Quality. I had to buy for work in a restaurant. It was $5 cheaper than the other quality brand. It’s a pretty fine grate, as long as you wash after use, it won’t get clogged. Only issue is cheese gets stuck on the inside of the grate barrel, under a piece of plastic. I have to use a knife to get it clean. This is the reason for 4 stars. It is well made and easy to assemble or disassemble to clean. I sort of wish I had the zyliss one instead. Update after a month of use the plastic inside the grater barrel twisted making it un operable. Ended up replacing with the Zyliss brand

I’ve been using this OXO cheese grater for close to 20 years, and honestly, I don’t think there’s another one in this style that even comes close. It grates beautifully, and one of my favorite things about it is how it holds the extra cheese inside. It makes it so simple to pop the whole thing in the fridge and already have cheese ready to go the next time I need it. Over the years I’ve had to buy two of them — the handle eventually broke — and I just ordered another one now. Even with that, it’s strong, it feels good in the hand, and it works the way it’s supposed to every single time. It’s just a reliable, well-designed tool.

I bought this as a gift for my brother. He is very picky, especially about food related products. He has a degree in food services. He was impressed with the quality of this grater. He loved that it had a storage compartment. It is light weight and easy to use. He thought the fineness of the cheese once grated was excellent. He really likes it and he is difficult to please. So I think it was an outstanding value for the price I paid.

This OXO cheese grater has truly earned its spot in our kitchen. We bought one more than eight years ago, and it’s still going strong—which is more than I can say for a lot of kitchen gadgets. It handles both hard and soft cheeses smoothly, and the clever little cap at the end gives you options: use it to pre-grate and store, or remove it to grate directly onto your dish. Super functional! You do need to cut your cheese to fit, but it’s a small price to pay for how well this works. It’s incredibly easy to clean—every part comes apart and pops into the top rack of the dishwasher without fuss. We loved it so much, we got one for my parents too, after several of their old graters gave out. This one just…doesn’t. Durable, reliable, and thoughtfully designed—OXO nailed it.

Ausgepackt, alles ist billiges Plastik, außer der Reibwalze selbst. Die gummierten Griffe werden in kürzester Zeit „eklig“ klebrig sein - eine einfache Riffelung hätte die griffigkeit auch gewährleistet. Die Kurbel und die realize sind über ein einfaches Plastikgewinde verbunden (wieso nicht Metall?) Letzter Punkt: die Reibe ist nicht „umkehrbar“, also für Linkshänder ungeeignet. Verstehe die hohen Bewertungen absolut nicht. In Relation zum Preis ist die aualität absolut nicht in Ordnung.
