As a lifelong teetotaler, what am I doing purchasing this very high quality beer bong? Well, my dog is terrified of fireworks and quavers under the bed shaking for the entire month of July. She usually loses about 15% of her body weight during this month. What makes it worse is that our house has a evaporative cooler, which brings in the smell of the fireworks as well. So this year we built her a doggie isolation box, with thick foam, closed cell insulation, mass vinyl soundproofing, and a triple glazed polycarbonate door. We insulated that sucker so well that my neighbor, an HVAC guy, said that we need an air source to pump air in and out, so Lucy doesn't suffocate. This is where the Beer Bong comes in. The width of the funnel is perfect to house a little desk fan. So you get a round mini fan, blow it into the funnel of the beer bong, into the dog isolation box, and out a hole drilled into the other side. Since my precious dog's life is at stake, I'm not going to use cheap plastic hosing, and this item has a very good quality hose. Also, the hose spigot can tamp down on the air flow, so when I put the fan on low, but need to restrict it just a little more, the restrictor valve does a great job. As a bonus, the restrictor valve has a fitting on each side, so I cut the hose in half. The sequence is: fan, funnel, 1/2 hose, valve, 1/2 hose, dog isolation box. To decrease sound, I wrapped the hose with more insulation, but the fan also provides white noise into the box. I dont know (or care) about how leakproof this contraption is with liquids, but it works great with air. Will report back on how well the doggie iso box does after the Fourth of July.
