Ferrocement Construction Manual: A Design And Construction Handbook For Everyone: Geodesic Dome Homes Ideas

Too brief, not enough instructions.
This is a sweet book and I appreciate the author sharing his experiment. I would give it 4 stars if the title was something like, "My Experiment with a Geodesic Dome covered with Cement ". But a manual on ferro cement it is not. I've been researching the subject and was hoping for more formulas, and information on the cement specifically and options as far as techniques. He does cover the option of mixing latex paint into the cement mix resulting in a more waterproof roof. That's intriguing and possibly helpful, but the book is more about his one time experiment with a geodesic dome and not much about the specifics of ferro cement. Some of the information out there on the internet is sketchy and even the ratio of sand to cement is different depending on the source. So judging by the title of this book, I was hoping for more comprehensive advice on the properties of cement, applications , thickness of the skin, multiple layers vs one layer etc.. This is not the book for that. It's no thicker than a cell phone and covers the geometry of a geodesic dome more than the subject of cement. I honor anyone's efforts to write a book and share their story, just think the title should reflect more of what the book is about.
