Constant and consistent humidity
I've bought two of the Humicare humidor humidifiers. I do not use distilled water in the humidifiers, because they release too much moisture into the humidor. This will cause the cigars to mold. I use the "Life Style Basics Cigar Humidor Solution". This is an excellent solution to use with the Humicare beads. This combination keeps the humidor at about 70 to 72 percent humidity. When I first received the Humicare humidifier, I could easily shake the beads. I poured about 3 OZs of the Humidor Solution and let sit for 30 minutes to an hour. After the beads have soaked up the solution, then when shaking the Humicare, you can tell the beads are much larger and tighter in the humicare humidifier. This will last a couple of months before needing an infusion of humidor solution. Thus far with this combination, the Humicare Humidifier is an awesome product and well worth the money spent to keep and protect my cigar investment and enjoyment.

Works well
Placed in my humidor and it holds my moisture around 65%, may have put to much water in as the balls expanded and broke free of the unit but that may be on me.

Wow, that soaked up a lot of water!
I've used Humi-Care products in all my humidors. Upon moving to a larger humidor, I opted to stay with that brand. I bought the larger unit (here) and started the process of soaking it. Let's just say this thing absorbs a lot of water. So much that it exploded and the beads were all over the inside of the humidor. This is not a defect, this is a measure of quality. I must have soaked it too long. I believe this unit will work great for my humidor. I just have to get used to its needs and how much water it can handle. It's a good product as are all Humi-care products.

Too many beads
Works great, but I’d recommend removing 1/4 of the beads. Otherwise it can over fill and actually split the container. Not a big deal and the container just snaps back together.

I just let them sit over nite filled to the screensso maybe my bad for not following directions but the Next day both ...
OK so I got a 100 Cigar Humidor from CI and the sponge Humi that came just wasn't doing the job for seasoning. I decided to purchase 2 of these units to help season it and what a difference. I may have overcharged them as mine split and some of the bead popped out and were all over the bottom. I was pushing the seasoning process and filled both of these up to the screens and then placed them into the bottom of the HUM along with the original Sponge Humi that came with the unit. If you read the direction it says to initially charge for 1 hour then flip upside down on a paper towel which I did not do. I just let them sit over nite filled to the screensso maybe my bad for not following directions but the Next day both were popped open with little clear rubber balls all over. After double stacking the balls back into the bases and snapping the lids back on i put the extras balls into a plastic bag. My thought is either remove some of the extra beads so I know I cannot overcharge them in the future and have them split again, or wait for them the start shrinking and then put them all back in and be careful about how much distilled water to add. I am not a careful guy so opted to just leave the extras out. So far it is keeping the Humi at a nice 68-70 for about a week now. So I am getting ready to add my cigars. I decided to put these on the bottom of the humidor and see what happens but overall I am very happy with this product. Would have given 5 stars if they did not split apart initially but over all I like this so much better than the sponge Humi that came with the box
