This adjustable drywall screw dimpler works well about 95% of the time and makes hanging drywall much easier. Instead of constantly worrying about whether I drove a screw too deep or left it sticking out too far, this helps keep the screw depth consistent from one screw to the next. Once adjusted where I want it, I can move through screws without having to think nearly as much about every single one. It isn't perfect every time, but it has made getting a consistent finish much easier and takes some of the guesswork out of hanging drywall.

The good - it is a huge improvement over the simple dimple bits or trying to control the depth yourself. That said, it is not entirely easy to drive the screws one handed, there just isn't that much magnet power to keep the screw in-line every time, you'll have an occasional miss. The bit is also recessed, so loading a screw takes some practice. It won't replace a drywall screw gun for big jobs, but it does speed things up considerably and give uniform depth. Glad I bought it. For home use it is the best thing so far!

The main problem I was concerned about was these dimplers would tear the paper around the screw which would make it useless. I didn't encounter any problems with it scoring around the screw, so I think it works as well as a dedicated drywall screw gun.
