I recommend this book for anyone who sews. I got tired of paying $80 - $100 every time I needed my machine serviced so this has helped me to do a lot of things that are pretty basic. It explains what to check and what to try before taking it in for repairs.Sewing Machine Repair for the Home Sewer

Great book for fixing your own machine

was disappointed at first because it really is quite a slim book for the money and the quality is not great BUT it is very very good at what you buy it for. It tells you a lot about how to set up and adjust, and make minor repairs, to sewing machines. I'd certainly re-buy it if I lost it.

Well, having almost decided that I'd have to take my machine to an expert, this book suggested perhaps I was trying to work with a blunt needle. Problem solved!Reads easily and clearly and I'd definitely recommend this.
