Excellent clava
clava It definitely is worth the money. The outer shell of neoprene does seem to keep the water out. I ran water on it in the shower and the water does shed off. In heavy rain conditions I will have to see if it passes the test. I definitely keeps you warm. I actually had to tuck the mouth and nose area under my chin since I started to sweat in mild labor conditions in 40 degrees or more. I wanted to keep the front area around the mouth intact for heavy rain conditions. The fleece lining by the mouth and nose area made my sinuses go haywire I did wash it so I will see the next time around what happens. Usually I will cut this area out to get good transfer of air flow. If you are using this clava breathing with no air flow across the mouth and nose area to wick away moisture caught in the material it will become saturated and irritate your skin. This can be resolved by cutting an area out for good air transfer. I would suggest starting small and working it out bigger till you are satisfied. I know it doesn't make sense to spend this much money then cut on it but you don't have to much of choice if it gets to saturated or to much bacteria/viruses it causes skin irritation or sickness. I would suggest having 91% rubbing alcohol with you to saturate the nose and mouth area after use to kill bacteria/viruses. This will also help with wear and tear from to much washing. . I have a large head but it works out better for me to use the Medium size clavas from Seirrus. I noticed the larger ones the nose and face area fall off. It is a more comfortable fit in the larger size but it does not serve the purpose which is to keep my face warm once I start moving and talking. Do not use with sunglasses they will fog you must cut mouth area for air transfer or use sealed goggles. I do believe this is a great product and I will purchase again.

Very Nice
I live in the Midwest and like to take 3-4 mile walks early in the morning. I was looking for a balaclava that would keep me warm enough to allow walking year-round, including in sub-zero conditions. The Ultraclava did the trick. It is warm and windproof. I have been out at 2 degrees F with 15 mph winds and was fine. I do wear my ski goggles when it's really cold to cover my eyes. I have not used it yet in wet conditions since it has been a very dry winter here. I don't wear it above 25 degrees F unless the wind is blowing since I don't need the coverage, but in very cold conditions it is quite useful. You will get some condensation around the mouth opening from your breath condensing but that is to be expected. I towel dry the area after each use and wash it weekly and it is no problem.

Not bad
Looks good and keeps you pretty warm without being too thick, but it's quite expensive and I had issues with it sending my breath back up into my glasses and fogging them up.

Great!
The headgear is nice and qualitative. It is really warm to put it on and not leak at the tie line. The order is very fast. Give a praise!

Waste of money
Don't buy it. No neck or chest protection at all. Too short. Waste of money.

not a good choice for when it's really cold and windy
the tip of the nose is exposed in this design. at the time it seemed like a feature to make breathing easier and to avoid fogging up the goggles, but after i froze the tip of my nose now it seems like a bug. most of my face and ears feel warm in this clava, but the air i breathe definitely feels cold and the tip of the nose gets unacceptably cold. i already ordered a different product which has a heat exchanger for the air you breathe and covers the nose - we'll see how it fares - it will definitely be heavier and bulkier than this one though. but even if you go for a thin clava like this one to keep it light and flexible i would seriously consider getting something with a different nose design. this particular nose design, while not very protective, has never had the goggles fog up on me though if that's your concern - but then, my goggles are Oakley that have a special lens with dual panes and an air pocket inside, specifically designed to prevent fogging up - so maybe that's why.probably the biggest plus to this mask is you may be able to find it locally and try it on. i was able to try mine on at the store before buying it. trying it at the store, of course, is not the same as actually wearing it in the cold - but at least you will know which size to get.if you don't have a balaclava my advice is you should definitely get one, but unless you only want light protection perhaps not this one.

Warm but fogs up my glasses
The Seiirus Innovation Ultra Clava fits well and provides considerable warmth. The only issue I have is that my glasses fog up. If you don't wear glasses or have anti-fog lenses (or mask) then this should work out very well.

Small is too small, and large is too large.
The small is too small (presses down on tip of nose) and the large is too large (big gaps on either side of head). They need to make one in between, or just raise the nose portion. I think my nose is positioned at a fairly normal height...
