Every year I get that little blinking red light saying replace filter and every year I open up my Winix unit. I look at the filter and to my surprise it doesn’t look half bad, there are no fuzzies growing off it so it must be okay.My husband says, “Well, we can go ahead and order another filter anyways since we don’t have any and then we can use it if it gets worse.” Then, the new filter comes in and to our even FURTHER surprise the filter is actually bone white, not GREY as we incorrectly presumed again.Then we change it out and are yet again filter-less with no back up. Not this year. I’m changing course! I purchased a second filter so I will have my back up filter ready for when that red blinking light inevitably strikes again.This makes year four of owning the Winix unit and running it all day and all night (night mode setting). And although I think it does help somewhat with our bedroom dander and whatnot, I really appreciate it for it’s air movement.Fans are great and all, but they can be big, loud, and just too much airflow sometimes. This little air purifier prevents the air from getting stagnant in our house during the spring and fall when we use less of our heat and air conditioning thus leading to more stagnant air. Same goes for when we go on vacation and set our thermostat to be energy efficient. Anyways, I know this seemed to be more of a review of the Winix unit itself, but hopefully you found it useful!

Perfect. My last filter lasted a year and a half , this is a wonderful product. My allergies and asthma could not be happier and I find the soft noise comforting. My house has less dust and it's been a bad winter could not be happier .
