Purchased this as i had a Sebaceous Cyst drained on the back of my kneck and weeks maybe a few months after i noticed white heads appearing on and around my scar so immediately was concerned of the cyst getting re effected so i did some research and bought the Acnecide face wash gel and it did the trick after a while but in areas like the kneck it does get dirty so be patient but the white heads did eventually go

As someone with cystic acne, I’ve been looking for a budget friendly product that actually works. I had 3 cystic acne spots on my chin when I started to use this 2 times a day, applying, smoothing over my face and working it into the skin then washing it off. The first time feels a bit strange, but as your skin gets used to the product you won’t feel anything at all. Within 5-7 days my spots had cleared and I’ve had hardly any breakouts since! If you have a whitehead, dab this on and leave it for 1-2 hours, this helps dry it out and makes the healing process quicker, worked a treat for me. Pair this with hylaronic acid (any will do) and waleda skin food to renourish the skin. This is my clear skin combo and I’ll be reordering for the foreseeable!

When I first started using Acnecide, my skin really struggled. I developed severe painful dry patches, and I can see why many people might discontinue use at this stage. However, I know my skin well, and I’d experienced a similar reaction years ago with the face cream version prescribed by a doctor.To manage this, I stopped using it for a short time to let my skin recover, then reintroduced it gradually with less frequent application. My biggest tip? Start slow. Use a small amount, and focus on the areas that need it most. For me, my cheeks were particularly sensitive to the product, so I avoided applying it there whenever possible. Now I can be far more relaxed with it, but I still wouldn’t over use eg. 2 times a day would be too much 7 days a week.The main thing that frustrates me about this product is how it’s described as a “face wash gel.” It’s not a gel-like consistency at all. It doesn’t foam, which might suggest it’s free from unnecessary fillers, but it makes it harder to use. It feels more like applying a thin moisturiser than a typical face wash, which can be a bit awkward.That said, I will continue to buy it, as there aren’t many easily accessible alternatives with 5% benzoyl peroxide. However, if a more traditional face wash with a similar active ingredient became available, I’d be eager to try it.A non screw top lid would also be favourable.I think reviewing this as 1-star because your skin reacted to the benzoyl peroxide is unfair as it's clearly marketed with this being the active ingredient and this is an extremely common reaction which is why you need to take your time with strong ingredients like these. If you struggle, then find products marketed as sensitive skin, which this isn't. It's not a product fault so low review don't make sense for this issue.

My son suffers from acne. As its so hard to get a doctors appointment I ordered this face wash for him to try. The wash is good but it bleaches flannels and towels, so be careful. It does seem to clean his skin well, but like I say has ruined numerous flannels and towels.

This may be a great product for oily skin and closed spots, but it should not be used on inflamed or raw spots, but I did not find that out until I had the product and read the full leaflet. It is also very drying (which I guess is how it works) so their warning to start slowly is good, but it was no good for my type of acne and I did not find out until after it was delivered.

I have suffered for years with bad breakouts, and recently it has got worse, most probably due to hormones (more under the skin spots then whiteheads). I’ve looked at so many different products but always been put off at how expensive they were. I read the reviews for this product and at such a reasonable price, I thought I’d give it a go. What a difference it has made to my skin and confidence. Each day I have noticed my skin clearing. I’ve used both the face wash and gel. I much prefer the face wash. The gel is good but found it definitely dried out my skin more than I wanted. I will always use this product from now and can’t recommend it enough.

I can’t recommend people enough NOT to buy this!I don’t have overly sensitive skin, used this product once 3 days ago now and after a few hours my skin began to feel extremely tight and burning, I had red blotches to start with that then turned into a rash all over my face, 3 days on the rash has become worse and my face is very painful and sore to touch the rash is still present, I am Having to use cold water on my face throughout the day to calm it down, I have used the same brand blemish gel for over a month with no reactions which is why I wanted to try the face wash.
