This camera is a dissapointment . . .
Be aware that the RAW files employed by this camera are not compatible with slightly older operating systems. Neither Canon's software nor Adobe's DNG converter will function except with recent operating systems. To edit this camera's RAW files on a Mac you will have to have at least OS X 10.11.6 However, that upgrade is not available, requiring an upgrade to High Sierra, and that may cause problems with some of your existing programs. The camera is small, with control buttons located where they will too easily be activated while handling the camera. There is too little space for my thumb to grip the camera without contacting buttons every time I pick it up. The focus and exposure point is too easily move on the touch screen by accidental contact. I want to find it in the center of the screen or viewfinder, not stuck off in a corner. The touch screen in review mode seems to have a mind of it's own, interpreting touches, taps, with unintended results. I wanted a mirror less camera for it's size and weight, but I will stick with my SLR. The optical view finder is far superior to the screen or electronic finder . . . besides, most of the weight and bulk is in lenses, not the camera body. With all the bells and whistles this camera has, a comprehensive manual is needed. But the only true operator's manual is only on line in PDF format. It seems a good manual, but it should come in print form, so that it could be stuffed in a camera bag. As it is, internet access is required, or the file loaded on a laptop. I don't care to lug around a laptop when backpacking. This camera's design seems aimed at cell phone photographers that use them at arm's length and shoot selfies, rather than more serious photographers wanting to lighten their load. UPDATE . . . . Battery life is marginal. It has been my experience that a battery will often not make it through a day of moderate use. A spare battery is a must for vacations and extended shooting situations. The battery charger is pretty slow as well. My Canon 80D makes it through a day or more easily. Regarding the RAW file issue . . . I downloaded Adobes latest DNG converter to my wife's later OS laptop, but conversion failed. Since then I have purchased a new iMac with high sierra, and the same version of DNG converter works well, and converted the files that previously failed to convert. The problem again, is that even Canon's software to download their RAW (CR2) files does not work except on Mac's later operating systems. There is a real problem for me that manufacturers and computer makers are so happy to obsolete software and equipment. LASTLY . . . There should be a way to lock the touch screen so that handling the camera does not (butt dial) or change things while handling the camera. I have not looked into it, but the central metering and focus rectangle is easily accidentally dragged off center and is a real annoyance to drag it back to the center where I want it.

MIRRORLESS
This must be the 7th or 8th Canon camera I've purchased over the years. This M6 has become my favorite. Not only does it accept my many EOS lenses (with an adapter), but it has all the controls you'll need as an amateur photographer. Light weight, easy to use and it takes excellent photos. As a bonus, I purchased a manual focus fish eye lens. I called Canon support to find out how to change settings so I could actually use it. The support was superb. Love Canon!!

The Canon Mirrorless M6: Compact functionality
I got the M6 as a replacement for my old Canon T2i. It is indeed much smaller, which matters to me. In one of the photos I uploaded you see a Canon Point & Shoot, the mirrorless M6, and the T2i DSLR in comparison. It's great to have more functionality in a smaller volume. The old DSLR with case was a big cube that barely fitted into my backpack, together with other stuff. Much has been said about this camera in reviews already. It's light, quick to deploy, and has wireless and bluetooth functionality. I like the fact that it doesn't waste space on a built-in viewfinder. I only used live view on my DSLR anyway. (A viewfinder on a mirrorless camera is a contradiction in concept anyway.) I take my camera to rough field locations, and so far it has held up. The M6 is rather sturdy and has a right-hand grip, although I would have preferred an even bigger grip. The LCD screen looks a bit fragile and prone to scratching, but it has survived so far. Although the M6 has a touch screen, the camera is loaded with mechanical buttons and dials. The ring around the power button moves. The exposure compensation dial looks cool, but I'm not planning on using it. These mechanical controls will become handy when working with gloves. The 15-45mm focal range of the kit lens is a better match for my landscape and nature photography than the 18-55mm was. I often had trouble fitting the scene into a single frame. After a few years of use, I have to say that I am not a fan of retractable lenses, because it takes extra time to get ready for a shot. That said, the compact measures are nice too. The second photo I uploaded shows the small M6 with a giant LumoPro flash. I call it the Beauty and the Beast. UPDATE Sep 2018: Connecting the camera with the cell phone was not straightforward. The instructions in the manual are not really sufficient, because there are many options that result in a big decision tree. I finally figured it out by trial-and-error, and now I can remotely operate the camera with the Camera Connect app. What good is a compact camera, if one doesn't have a compact bag for it? The best case I have come across so far for this camera is this Vintage Camera Case from Platinum (pt): https://www.amazon.com/Platinum-Vintage-Camera-Green-Brown/dp/B01GV6FVQY/ The M6 with the 15-45mm kit lens fits in it sideways. Although the bag is still slightly too big, it is a better fit than several other similarly-sized camera cases I have tried. I'm still looking for the perfect bag though. UPDATE Nov 2020: Made some edits in the text above. I have also come to appreciate the electronic level that can be displayed.

I love it!
I just received mine and I absolutely love it. It’s everything it says it is. The touch screen, auto focus, literally everything is great and I’m happy that I did this investment.😊❤️

I use full frame but this little camera lets me travel lite. Nice weight, fast autofocus and all the options to get creative with your pictures. I can use my L lenses with a 3rd party adapter so that helps. So far I am happy with the punch that this little camera carries.

Excelente cámara, increíble resolución, llegó un día después de lo dicho, pero un día no es nada, llegó bien empaquetado, bien protegido, la cámara se siente super bien, bastante pesada para su tamaño, increíble compra, satisfecho 100%
