Henckels Forged Synergy 8-inch Bread Knife

We are building our Henkel's knife set one at a time because of the price. This brand is excellent and has a very long and solid reputation. This knife is heavy. Its perfectly balanced in your hand. Very satisfied.

I have never owned a good quality knife before, but since I started regularly baking my own bread about a year ago, I have been craving a good bread knife. For my birthday, I decided to treat myself to my first Henckels. I love the balance in this knife. It feels great in my hand. It feels really solid, yet lightweight. But, most importantly, it slides through fresh bread so smoothly without crushing or tearing the bread. It is absolutely beautiful.

What a great little bread knife. It makes nice clean cuts on bread, cakes and pastries. What more could you want?

This knife feels nice in the hand due to its weightiness and balance. It does not feel like a cheap knife. The serrations are not as sharp as I had expected, but after trying it out on some crusty homemade bread I can say that it ripped through cleanly and without much effort. I’d say it’s a fair value overall. I also like the design of the handle. My only concern is that it is made in China, because after reading many other Henckel Knife reviews I get the impression that their line of entry-level knives manufactured outside of Europe are inconsistent in quality. Otherwise, I am satisfied with my purchase.
