YU2GR Powered Desktop Speakers (Gloss Red)

I first purchased the PreSonus Eris 3.5" because they were so highly rated and much cheaper. 2 days after I made the purchase, the gloss red YU2s dropped from $219 to $179! I see they are now up to $239. I suggest you wait if you can, they seem to fluctuate in price a great deal. These Kanto YU2s are MUCH smaller than the Eris. Maybe half the size. That is the greatest asset, just how compact these are! Now, when you fire them up for the first time, they will sound small. There are no tone adjustments like on the Eris. The Eris can get you a little bit of bass, the YU2 does not. Now, that being said, you must EQ! When applying EQ(Equalizer APO w/Peace UI), you can improve the already excellent highs. But what is best for these speakers are toning down the bass and tweaking the mids. The low end pop I first was triggering constantly disappeared and I could get the mids to warm up and get some semblance of low tones. So much so that I can listen to bass heavy music and tolerate it. Classical and rock, however, are much more enjoyable. And vocals! They shine! I am looking at adding the Jamo S808 sub for under my desk due to the slim profile and low price. Any decent sub should really make this a fantastic package for an office or small room. Granted, that makes the total cost of your setup much, much more expensive than the the Eris' $99 price. I think with the Eris, you can get away without a sub if you are really concerned about budget. The Eris is great for sound production and editing. Very technical, very flat. These YU2s are much more musical and enjoyable for the massive amount of time I spend stuck at home during the pandemic. I would not recommend for these that just want a set of monitors and that's it. But if you want tiny speakers on your desk(smaller than most computer speakers) that will absolutely shine with EQ and a sub, get these! Oh, and they look absolutely KILLER!!!

These speakers are quite powerful and they come in a small package that fits nicely on my desk. Bass is quite good for speakers without a dedicated subwoofer

I rarely write a review, but I hooked these speakers up 2 hours ago and I am AMAZED. I wanted new speakers to go with my new computer and to replace my old 5 speaker and sub woofer setup. I'm a musician and I have very high standards when it comes to sound. My music tastes run from Green Day to Beverly Sills and everywhere in between. I am so amazed by these speakers. There is perfect and beautiful sound, and better range and clarity, from bass to treble, coming out of these speakers than I could've imagined from something this size. I have an old 1500 square foot brick house with well made walls, and this is the only system I've ever been able to crank up and hear clearly in every room of the house. I would never guess these are only 100 watts. They have amazing power and are clear and crisp from volume setting 2 to volume setting 100. When it's time to finish out my media room, you can bet I'll be back for a bigger system for my TV. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Kanto for making such a great product!!!

If you're looking for PC Speakers, then look no further cuz these rock! - Make sure to connect them through the usb port to activate the inside DAC for better sound - Also, I'd recommend a small sub to go with it, specially since it has a sub out. (I invested in the JAMO S 808 SUB) - Also, I'd recommended stands to make sound level with ears. Highly recommended desktop speakers, HIGHLY!
