Review: Easy to Carry but Too Small and Questionable Effectiveness - On the upside, this is a trusted name and a quality tool. Really the only option to comfortably carry without a purse or handbag. Other pepper spray canisters, with a longer range, are much too bulky. -So settling for a 3ft. range on something I will actually carry, is better than pepper spray with a 10ft. range, that I’ll never carry. The downside is although it comes with two beefy key-rings, it lacks e pocket clip that would make it 100% more useful. Also consider the small size that doesn’t extend beyond the hand to be used as a kubaton. And the meager 3ft. spray range, that spays in a cone, not stream. The spray is going to loose density and strength as it spreads, so I question the effectiveness at its maximum 3ft. range. If you’re in a situation where you need to deploy it at 3ft., you’re going to be grappling immediately thereafter. So being able to continue using it as a weapon after initial deployment would be helpful. For that reason, the larger size is a better option. So I did buy the larger one with the pocket clip and find it to be a much better fit. (See last photo to compare). They both fit into the category of “something is better then nothing” Review: TRY IT WITH A TESTER SPRAY (it's educational in case you ever have to use it!) - I would buy the testers and try it out. I went outside with the tester spray to show my husband how cool it is, but the breeze (which was very light) blew it right in my face. Then I sprayed in a different direction and it blew sideways. It creates a "plume" just a few feet in front of you, so any breeze at all could blow it away from the assailant (making it pointless) or right back at you (making it dangerous.) In a real-life scenario, are you really going to be thinking about which way the wind is blowing? Maybe it would be helpful for dog attacks? For indoor, close contact use, I think it could be great. I do like the design. I bought the palm size and the regular. I like the regular size more. It's barely bigger, has twice the capacity, and would be a better kubaton if needed.

Very sleek and user friendly- I attached it to the outside of my purse and it's easy to activate but no risk of accidental spraying since removing the safety lock takes a conscious 2 second effort. Very pricey but I feel safer with this than those stupid bulky keychain case ones where you have to open the snap, remove the pepper spray, find where the hole is pointing, and take of the safety- there's no time for that nonsense during emergencies.

Gold ASP Pepper Spray
I haven't had a chance to use this on anyone yet but I like that it doesn't look like a regular pepper spray defender. The gold is very much a yellow gold which was not what I had not expected. But it's very chic and cute. A bit more pricey that I would have liked but it looks a lot more fabulous on a keychain than the regular sprays.

too big, too heavy, too gold.
I thought I was going to love it.... but the color is hideous and I know that is not the first thing I should look for in pepper spray but that was the selling point for me. It is way bigger than I expected it and heavier so if you are a 5”3 girl with small hands this is not very comfortable to carry around. PS: This item is not available for return.
