AncestryDNA is interesting and the results were detailed, giving a good overview of my heritage and potential relatives. The testing process itself was simple, and the kit was easy to use. My main issue was the wait — it took much longer than I expected to get the results, which was a bit frustrating. Overall, it’s a useful service, but the slow turnaround left me feeling a little underwhelmed.

This was great value for money. I bought it for my husbands Christmas and he loved it. Easy to use with clear instructions. Great quality and incredibly accurate!

I bought a kit for my wife a few years ago and it threw up some interesting points so decided to have a go myself, the test is simple and easy to complete, box and post. The down side is the time scale, they say it takes up to 20 days (Working days) to receive the samples then 6 to 8 Weeks to process and send back you results so could take up to 3 months to get your result so a slow process, will update when my results are in.

I purchased two of these DNA kits as Christmas gifts at £95 each, and unfortunately the experience has been very disappointing. The testing process itself was straightforward, but the results we received felt extremely limited and lacking in meaningful detail. Most of the information provided was quite basic, and much of what might be considered more useful or in-depth appears to be locked behind an additional paid subscription. Even then, it’s not entirely clear what extra value the subscription actually provides. Given the price point, I expected far more insight without needing to commit to ongoing monthly fees. As it stands, the initial results alone do not feel sufficient to justify the cost. This product may be of interest to those who are willing to pay for continued access and explore the platform further, but based on my experience, I would not personally recommend it at this price.
