Original, Batik Still Life Painting on Rice Paper; Blue and White Porcelain with Lemons Wall Decor

This is a 29" x 24" batik watercolor painting on rice paper. It is double matted and framed, under glass, with an authenticate handmade Mission style oak frame. (See alternate photos.) The painting was created by placing watercolor paints down first in light colors, which were then layered with wax. Successive layers of watercolor and wax were laid down until the entire subject was painted and covered by wax. The rice paper was then crumpled and painted with a final layer of watercolor. Finally, the wax was ironed off.
