Hobart 770030 Ground Clamp, 500-AMP

Bought this to replace the ground clamp on my flux core Lincoln welder. It's made a huge improvement in performance. With original clamp we were always positioning the clamp as close to the work as possible and that's frequently difficult because of tight quarters. In addition the clamping force of the Lincoln clamp was weak. With this clamp I can now position it anywhere around the work and not have to constantly move it to get a quality arc. Better yet the quality of the welds have improve substantially. Much less spatter, much cleaner welds.The ground wire on the Lincoln is of a smaller gauge than the ring clamp that comes with this clamp. I did not replace the Lincoln ground wire. Instead, I cut off the end, stripped an appropriate amount of shielding, fed it through the ring Hobart ring clam, grabbed a cold chisel and 3lb hammer and went to work. It's not pretty but it's a rock solid connection and works wonderfully. I'll bet this clamp would improve the performance of the cheapest of welders.Buy it, mount it and you'll love it too.

The spring on the all brass clamp that came with one of my miller machines kept wearing out, so switched to this one with no problems. Expect this to last much much longer, have had this style on my other two machines the past 12 years and they still have the same clamping force they did when new.

I purchased this in part because of price...not realizing how sturdy this clamp is. What I mean by that is ..I have smaller hands and I can almost not be able to squeeze it. The design is such it can grip round objects such as pipe or bolts, and also flat surfaces. Creates a great ground connection. It really is designed to accept a larger cable, but sometimes I like a bit of overkill...but can use on future welder (larger). I highly recommend this ground clamp.

Great clamp with good bite on grounding surfaces. holds on tight. crimped with my big crimping tool. Part is high quality and good price.

This clamp seems to be well made and will suit my needs. I don't weld above 100 amps very often. I think it will last a long time.

Made a huge difference. A good ground is essential for good welds and this clamp met and exceeded my expectations. Much better than the clamp that came with my welder, this upgrade is worth the money.

This ground clamp was ordered to replace the clamp that came with my HF welder. It is very well build with a stiff spring, which in my opinion is a good thing. I crimped and soldered the connector to the cable, bolted it in place and all is well.
