Great light BUT !!
It’s a great light for the money, but there are two problems that I must share with everyone. First, you have to use a high wattage bulb because the white globe blocks the light . Second by a quality pool cord for the on and off switch. That flimsy rope that was included broke the first time I pulled the light to test it. I had to go for a 60 W LED bulb to a 100 W LED bulb to light up my closet.

Simplest way to cover bare bulbs in closets
This product does its job of affordably covering bare bulbs in closets where code requires it. I'd give it 4 1/2 stars if I could because it still needs some small improvements. If I could make THREE minor changes to the product, it would be to:• Widen the base one inch to cover a wider array of drywall holes• Increase the size of the metal pull chain--the thread pull is really flimsy and has far too much give• Decrease the overall height of the shade--some circumstances can't accommodate this product's significant height

Not new, a good-as-new return that I kept
If this were a brand new product, as advertised on the site, I'd give it 5 stars.Good build quality, inexpensive, easy to install, small footprint -- everything I was looking for in a closet light. However, it's been noted in other reviews that people received returns. Indeed, when my box came, it had a single piece of transparent packing tape across the top unlikely to have been applied by a machine. The box was slightly misshaped from the way the globe had been repacked inside. Some of the baggies of parts were neatly tied together rather than sealed. The bubble wrap around the glass globe had a tear in it from having been opened once.All of this I point out to explain why I say it was a return, not brand new. The quality of the return was excellent - yes it was manually repacked, but it was *well* repacked. Nothing was damaged. There were no missing pieces. The unit itself did not have blemishes, scratches, nor marks on it.So should you buy it? At the price point and condition, I have no regrets, which is why I didn't return it myself since going to the local hardware store for something brand new would have cost me at least double. This is effectively-new, or almost-new, and, importantly, it works.Nevertheless, I can't give it five stars when it's marketed as new rather than a refurb/return. Buyer beware.
