Style:43MM,67MM Product Description Formatt Hitech 43mm Front Screw Adaptor for 67mm Modular Holder. From the Manufacturer About Formatt-Hitech Formatt-Hitech filters are designed and manufactured in the UK. Formatt-Hitech takes a scientific approach to light modification and designs filters using advanced spectrography to manufacture the most evenly balanced and well matched filters in the world. By using a spectrograph, Formatt-Hitech designs filters of varying density that modify light in the same way, just to varying degrees of intensity. So you can switch from a 0.3ND to a 1.2ND without changing the look of your project. Strict quality standards also mean that if you break a filter today, we can replace it tomorrow with a filter virtually identical across the frequency spectrum. So your 5 piece matched set of ND filters will always remain a matched set of filters, even if one should break and need replacing. Technology Formatt-Hitech use our award winning and exclusive Absorbing Cell Technology process to dye the resin. The Absorbing Cell Technology process absorbs dye into each cell of the resin rather than coating onto it, ensuring that the affect is applied consistently across the filter. This means that each Formatt filter can be consistently replicated time after time. The densities and formulation of the dying process are strictly computer controlled, creating the most accurate filter reproduction in the world. Materials Science Formatt-Hitech's resin was designed specifically for use as a lens material and has an index of refraction nearly identical to the finest optical glass. Formatt-Hitech's resin has the highest scratch resistance of any optical plastic and it is resistant to most solvents, chemicals, aging and material fatigue. Meaning that your resin filter investment will provide many years of good service. Formatt-Hitech's resin is completely transparent to the visible spectrum and opaque to ultraviolet light to eliminate UV contamination on your digital sensor. Choosing a Filter System Using a filter holder rather than a circular screw-in filter allows you to make a single filter purchase that is used across a variety of lenses. 85mm filters are an excellent choice for small mirrorless camera systems such as Leica M and Micro Four Thirds systems, or DSLR users with small lenses. The 100mm system is an excellent all-round choice. 100mm filters are popular for DSLR photographers and DSLR cinematographers using larger, more expensive lenses. Typically, most solid filters are square. Graduated filters are rectangular to allow for vertical adjustment of the horizon.

Well Designed & Made
I began "investing" in the Formatt HiTech filter system recently, because it seemed the overall best and most reliable way to address my filter needs on some large lenses. HiTech seems to have more reliable production than Lee, and so long as you pick the right filters, I have not been able to discern any substantial quality difference between their resin filters. The price is generally better than Singh Ray, though not on all items, but there are some Singh Ray filters that just don't seem available in the sizes I want. I have not compared glass, because I made a decision to not carry glass rectangular filters for my landscape photography. This is not a knock on Lee or Singh Ray; I think they make great stuff, but it's either hard to get some of their stuff or what I want is simply not in the right format. Anyway, in the space of a couple of days, I had a full 100mm kit from HiTech, mostly from Amazon, some from B+H and Adorama. I have 77mm standard and wide angle adapters for my current crop of crop Canon lenses, and this item, the 100mm aluminum modular filter holder, some ND and graduated filters. This is a very nicely made unit. The fit & finish are excellent. I have not tried the lower priced version of this unit, Hitech Modular Holder System for 100mm Hitech and Lee Filters , but assume it is made of some plastic, and is likely lighter. This item comes assembled, can hold three filters, and has additional hardware, including shorter screws, to allow you to stack only two, or to forego stacking altogether. It has a brief but concise small instruction booklet with color photo illustrations. Everything about the product, its packaging, its accessories, and its support seems first rate.I used Cokin filters decades ago when I shot film, and this is head and shoulders above that quality level. This is an excellent, well-made product that appears capable of lasting a long time. At $92, this is the cost of some single-coated B+W filters, and several times the cost of many Hoya & Tiffen filters. But it sets the stage for extreme flexibility. When I move up to full frame later this year, with some large front lenses, I will likely move to to the 165mm size. For now, I am very impressed with the system and its quality. Highly recommended.

An excellent alternative to the LEE Seven5 system for DLSRs or compact system mirrorless cameras. The Hitech modular holder also supports camera lenses up to a 77mm thread size which is slightly larger than the LEE Seven5. I knew that I wanted to be able to support up to 77mm so this fit the bill better than the LEE Seven5 while still being smaller than the 100mm filter holders. I use it on my Fujifilm X-T1 and it's still well balanced.Remember that this holder still requires the proper sized screw adaptor to fit the filter thread of your lens. The clips on the side of the holder are user removable so that you can choose to hold 1, 2, or 3 filters. I usually only use it with one 10-stop ProStop IRND filter so I only have the first set of clips installed on mine. If I need to use the ND along with a grad, I can easily add another set of clips to hold it.The 85mm holder system is also compatible with Cokin P filters which is a plus.

Not What I Ordered
I don't know what I received but it doesn't work with the Formatt Hitech 85mm Aluminum Holder. In the photos, the adapter on the left is what I received and the adapter on the right is what came with the 85mm Holder. Whatever I received is too big and doesn't have a lip to attach to the Holder.

I own a conklin as well and this filter holder is of much finer quality, it works with my Tokina 24-70mm just barely (difficult to thread on). I would highly recommend this holder system for someone who wants to use square filters exclusively. The problem is that if you mount a circular filter on your lens and then mount this holder to it, the circular filter is almost impossible to un-thread from the holder. I use it exclusively with the square filters.

Received the wrong item twice
Did not have the opportunity to test out this product. Very unsatisfied with this purchase because I was sent the wrong item twice. Rather than receiving the 85MM Modular Holder as advertised, I received a 58mm ADAPTOR, ordered a replacement, hoping they would send the proper 85MM Modular Holder, & instead received another 82mm ADAPTOR. As a future reference for myself, I will not be utilizing Amazon for purchases related to more sensitive camera appliances, like lenses and filters, if I can't get the proper product for just a filter holder. Rather, I recommend a more trusted source, i.e. B&H.

Great product worth it! Just be sure to unmount it if your not using a filter :)
Beware it leaves a "natural" vignetting if you leave it on with no filter and use it. While hiking its hard to stop unmount and mount the attachment everytime you want to do a long exposure, so i kept it on and that happened lol. Mybad.

A little clumsy to use but overall works very good. I use this with gradient ND filters and it allows me to adjust it to the position I want.

Undeservingly expensive
I'll start off by saying I normally like Hitech as a firm and the filters they do (from the introduction of IRND anyway) are excellent. I like the idea of buying British. However, I have a few gripes about this holder. When you take it out the box it instantly becomes apparent that this is just extortionately expensive Meccano. I understand that these things won't have a massive market but even still, come on! Consider this and one of their wide angle adapters in your other hand and I'd defy you to not feel more than a bit had for the coin you forked out. Take a punt on the far-east markets on that auction site for these items if you really think you'll never need the CPL and it's adapter. Mind you, if you can afford that then money is no object anyway! This was the second one of these I ordered (the first that came was the old plastic style so was returned) but none of the two came with the spare components the instruction booklet says it should. Not a deal breaker but still a bit miffed after dealing with the first point. There doesn't seem to be a way to ask for the spares without returning the whole thing again. The last issue I have is the retaining screw to keep this in place. This is a single contact point on a flush sided adapter ring. It just doesn't give me the confidence to just pick up the kit with the holder in place, throw the tripod over my shoulder and tramp off elsewhere knowing It wont drop off. I suppose only further use will give me this. or until it does fall off and I lose it. The design on the old plastic one they sent actually looked better. As for sticking a filter in, it does hold them well but there's not much to go wrong there really.2 stars from me I'm afraid due to the fact I can accept I have to pay top dollar for the technology that goes into making, researching and improving the filters in a niche market without the same company ripping me off for the dumb metal to hold them in place.

Great alternative to the Lee Holder....
Purchased for my Fuji X Pro 1 as an alternative to the Lee System, really impressed, does exactly what the Lee one does at a much lower price and with a better securing system for the ring in my opinion. Ideal for CSC cameras and travelling, got some use out of it on a trip to Egypt recently. Spot on.

my product is 2nd hand
Got home to find out that I paid the full price for a 2nd hand product.Box was poorly kept, completly ripped and battered and the holder has seen better days, is full of scratches and a few dents.I'm disappointed. I am flying to Portugal tomorrow, but returning this as soon as I'm back and buying a Lee instead.
