Zodiac Cyclonic Automatic Pool Cleaner Leaf Catcher Canister

When I was ordering my pool vacuum for a new pool, I saw this item and knew that I needed it. I have a large oak tree near the pool, as well as plenty of shrubbery. It also gets quite windy at times. This item catches the leaves and other debris before they can make it to the filter, saving stress on the machinery and quite helpful for my pool guy as well. The amount of leaves that were prevented from going into the filter was impressive. I'm very happy to have spent the extra money when setting up my equipment; definitely worth it!

This is our favorite swimming pool leaf canister. So much easier to open & clean than the typical horizontal cleaner. When our kast zodiac canister finslly subcumbed to old age, i pulled a horizontal version out of storage and realize once again why the zodiac is the superior leaf canister. I had to order a replacementZodiac because the standard horizontal ones are so annoying to get apart.

5 stars for the quality material. The srewing it though... It rises to the top- I don't know if that's how it should be. It's not very easy to remove the top to get the leaves out. It di'nt catch a single leaf bc all of them are on the surface of the water. So I don't know if it's serving a purpose for me. I might have to return it. I will watch it for a little longer before I do it.

Love thos little leaf catcher but downside is it only works on one specific brand cleaner. Since the cleaner I ordered arrived not functional this is useless to me.

Why waste time and effort cleaning filter basket and canister filter when this removes the bulk of the problems. I have used this unit now for a month and typically have to clean the pump basket and canister filter twice a month (at least, season dependent). After a month of use, I checked both filters and they were empty...really...no debris. So, it saves time and probably the cost of the canister filter change (I have been replacing 2 times per year at $60 each). If this unit lasts one year, it paid for itself. I'm estimating a 5-year life expectancy or $300 maintenance cost reduction, less the cost of the unit, of course.

I wish that just the clear canister was sold separately! I dropped mine and it broke-out a chunk from the side and bottom.

This is the second one I have purchased for my pool. Recommended. It captures leaves before they get to the pump basket.

I was just searching for some pool supplies today and stumbled across this item, once again, and was immediately struck with the vivid memory of just how massively frustrated and ripped off I felt with this thing. So severely, in fact, that I have been sufficiently compelled to post this negative review right here. (My very first Amazon Product Customer Review ever, for whatever that might be worth! Such is/was my level of dissatisfaction with this particular product!)Anyway, I actually purchased this item here about a year ago now but I had only gotten to use it for just a couple of weeks after receiving it and getting around to installing it with the necessary tubes last summer. Reason being is that it all but instantly broke on me and was subsequently rendered entirely useless. Literally over $80.00 spent and then POOF! Wasted. Long gone for good. (This occurred like, practically the day after the return window closed, of course. Maddening!)After just a couple routine obligatory canister empties, BOTH of the little plastic locking pegs on opposite sides of the reservoir canister popped right off. Obviously, this made this device fundamentally inoperable as there was now no way to effectively and securely fasten the canister to the input/output locking lid.Anyway, just be aware that that is a distinct and unfortunate possibility that might very well befall you, too, should you use this item yourself.
