Multiple Bases = Added Convenience
I would recommend purchasing a second base so you don't have to swap your main base around. We have used the second base in my husband's truck, our Nanny's car, Grandma's car, and an unexpected rental car when my car had to stay in the shop, etc. I am a first-time Mom. I purchased a Doona car seat based off recommendations from other Mom friends. The convenience of a car seat and stroller combination in one is great! Especially during baby's first year when running errands, going to doctor appointments, follow-up appointments, etc. I have actually received compliments about it from complete strangers while out and about. Popping it in/out of the car seat base is a breeze, literally 1 button. Putting it in/out of stroller mode takes some practice at first but once you get the hang of it, it is also a breeze. CONs - it is on the heavier side, particularly as baby has grown. Keep your arm strength up! Fortunately, you generally are NOT carrying it for long distances since you can just pop it into stroller mode. Once baby outgrows this at 25 lbs, we will transition to a convertible car seat. Until then, we will continue to use and love our Doona. I would easily and highly recommend a Doona to everyone. This is THE infant car seat to have.
