I like that there are different sections and some repetition in each section so my child can spend time working through a concept. There's more writing/reading in this book than I was prepared for. My 5yo isn't writing proficiently yet so we are taking our time with the writing portions. Despite the surprise, I'm glad she has another avenue for practicing writing in this book. Review: Very happy with the book - It looks brand new. I am very happy with this purchase.

So far we are very satisfied with Building Thinking Skills
So far we are very satisfied with Building Thinking Skills. We are just a few weeks into our schooling, and my daughter seems to enjoy the activities.

Fantastic resource!
This is a fantastic resource to help your kids with developing their critical thinking skills. Get some attribute blocks Attribute Blocks, Desktop-Sized, Set of 60 to be able to complete some of the exercises. Kids that can't read can still do the exercises, if an adult reads the instructions to them. We've used this with our home schooled kids age 4-6. Many of the exercises help develop pre-math and pre-literacy skills (sorting, patterns, seriation, sequences, comparisons, attributes, etc.).

very satisfied. Highly recommend
So far we are very pleased with this. My daughter is in homeschool and well advanced in reading but struggling with cause and effect, focusing, and following directions. So far she not only enjoys this book but I like its content. Only has it for a few weeks, but so far quite satisfied.

Helpful for critical thinking
I got the whole set of critical thinking workbooks. Yes, you need to purchase the blocks to use with workbooks. We use these workbooks everyday.

dry and boring
not happy with the purchase. the book is dry and my child is not enjoying it. I previously bought brainquest books and these are fun to go through but this one seems like a scientific level book not suitable for kids brains. Its true that you also have to buy a bag of shapes...

binding causes frustration
My daughters have used BTS levels one and two and have enjoyed them, though they have been challenged. I believe it has helped with their critical thinking. However, I would not recommend Primary BTS. There are activities in the book that require the child to place attribute blocks or linking blocks on the book to either compare or trace. The way the book is bound the blocks do not lay flat and fall off the page. This is very frustrating. These activities themselves are good, however the binding makes them very difficult to perform. I ended up taking the binding apart and putting the book in a 3-ring binder, which worked fairly well. There are also a fair number of activities that require writing sentences early on in the book, which was way beyond my Kindergartner. As compromise, I often have to write what he dictates.
